Some of the Louisville area’s top high school basketball players in the 2013 class will compete in Saturday’s Kentucky High School Coaches Association All-Star games at St. Xavier.

The girls’ game will begin at 6 p.m., with the boys’ game to follow at 8. The event was moved from Bellarmine University because of the current renovation of Knights Hall.
The games will match players from the West (Fifth/Sixth regions) against the East (Seventh/Eighth regions). Bullitt East’s Derek Willis, who has committed to the University of Kentucky, is scheduled to play for the West.
This marks the 25th anniversary of the girls’ game, and all four coaches from the first contest in 1988 will be honored: East Hardin’s Terry Buckles, Southern’s Bill Brown, Manual’s Ken Smith and Bullitt East’s Jerry Troutman.
The East boys lead the series 17-8. The West girls have a 16-8 edge.
