Not ready to come marching home quite yet, CAL's Lady Centurions declawed the Lady Bearcats of KCD. The score tells the tale of the hunt. None of CAL's starters played much more than a quarter, usually two to three minutes at a time.

Instead, the game provided the coaches with the chance to try a variety of lineups and see if the bench could provide a spark. Sophomore Paige Gardner made the most of the opportunity, scoring 10 points, hitting 3 of 5 from 3-point range, collecting 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Junior guard Abbie Erickson made 3 of 4 FG coupled with 3 rebounds. In limited playing time, regular starters Antonita Slaughter and Anna Hart contributed 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Lady Bearcats may have been outmatched on this occasion, but they never went into hibernation and deserve credit for maintaining a positive spirit and effort until the horn sounded. Shelby Hendricks worked for 7 well-earned points, often being fouled to prevent a lay-up.
