Assistant coach for 1 year out of 11. So really, he's never coached girls before.

Brad Cox will do a phenomenal job as the next head coach of the Ladh Royals. He's had many of these girls in class either in middle school, or high school as he's taught at both. So that takes care of having to build up relationships with most of them.

It doesn't matter about coaching boys, or girls. A coach is a coach, and Brad will be just fine running his own program. He will have more than enough support from the community, and will be a great role model for the young lady's.

Well, I mean by definition he has? A year is more than never, yes? I believe he will do a great job and was already in the school system.

Great head coaches would never become great head coaches if someone somewhere hadn't seen fit to give them a chance. There may have been someone with more experience, doesn't mean they were the best fit for that school district.

Congratulations to Coach Cox. He will do a great job with an outstanding group of girls- both as players and people.

Hey Sumo, has the new coach said anything about whether or not he is going to have the shootout?

Got to know Coach Cox well this year and really respect him. While he doesn't have a primary experience coaching girls, he has the demeanor to be successful with a girls team. His status in the Mason system will lend itself well to establishing his position as head coach. Wish him the best of luck and am sure he will do fine.

Yes, he is working on a one day thing because of late timing in getting summer schedule going. If you are interested contact Brad at school or myself and we will do our best.

I got to know Brad while he was at Madisonville. Great guy. He knows the game and how to get the most out of his players. The Lady Royals will be well respected on and off the court.

Mason Is having a two day team camp on June 23 and June 24th. If you need info, call Coach Cox at the school.

I'm on a fishing trip in Canada and just picked up on this.

Am very happy for Brad Cox. I've been a big fan since his playing days at Pendleton County. A real gentleman who will do a great job in representing Mason County High School and the Lady Royals.

Brad has paid his dues over the years and will do his best with a loaded, up and coming, Lady Royals team.

Congratulations to Coach Cox and those responsible for making this decision.

June 23 and 24 would be within the KHSAA "Dead Period."
