2015-16 15th Region Rankings Week 6
1.Shelby Valley (15-2):
The Lady Cats continue to dominate the 15th region, their latest victims are the 15th Region All “A” Classic as they win it to advance to the All “A” State Tournament in Frankfort. Shelby Valley will host #3 East Ridge on Friday, a team they just beat to win the 15th Region All “A” Classic.
2.Johnson Central (8-7):
Johnson Central struggling as of late, winning 2 out of their last 6 games. The Lady Eagles will head across town Friday to battle district foe Paintsville Lady Tigers.
3.East Ridge (11-5):
Lady Warriors went and participated in the 15th Region All “A” Classic last week, winning 3 of the 4 games, falling in the championship game to #1 Shelby Valley 42-26. The same team that the Lady Warriors will face on Friday.
Lady Panthers have been struggling as of late, going 1-3 in their last 4 games including an early exit in the first round of the 15th Region All “A” Classic. Pikevile will now face Letcher Central on Thursday.
5.Magoffin County (7-6):
Lady Hornets have been up and down so far this season, going 4-1 in their first 5 games to open the season then going 3-5 in their last 8 games. Lady Hornets will travel to Sheldon Clark on Friday.
2-5 in their last 7 games as the Lady Tigers continue to struggle as they head into a big district game with crosstown rival, Johnson Central on Friday night. Lady Tigers are still getting great production from Presley Chirico (13 PPG), Anna Keeton (13 PPG) and Elizabeth Williams at 15 points a game.
7.Pike County Central (8-8):
After a rough and rocky start the Lady Hawks have rebounded and won 4 of their last 5 games and they will look to continue that streak on Friday as they travel to Belfry to face the Lady Pirates.
8.Betsy Layne (7-8):
Betsy Layne is one of several teams in the 15th region that is struggling mid-way through the season. The Lady Wildcats have won just 2 games out of their last 6.
9.Sheldon Clark (7-9):
The Lady Cardinals were on a 4 game skid streak going into tonight’s game with Prestonsburg but that was stopped with a 65-58 victory over the Lady Blackcats.
Lady Pirates are 2-2 in their last 4 games. Belfry will host crosstown rival, Pike Central on Friday night as they look to rebound from their loss to Magoffn County.
11.Lawrence County (5-10):
Lawrence County has gaps in between wins and haven’t been able to put 2 wins together so far this season as they will look to change that this Friday and Saturday when they travel to both Phelps and Wolfe County.
12.South Floyd (7-7):
Lady Raiders have lost 2 straight and 5 of their last 7 games.
Lady Blackcats are on a 7 game losing streak heading into Saturday’s contest with Pulaski Southwestern.
After their 3-0 start, the Lady Hornets have since won just 2 games while losing 7, however, they have won ball games this season after not winning a one last season.
15.Allen Central (1-9):
Lady Rebels lone win is over Cordia.
16.Piarist School (0-11):
Lady Knights are still looking for their first win on the season.
