2015-16 10th Region Rankings 2-14-16
1. Mason County (22-3):
Only one word to describe the Mason County Lady Royals………DOMINATE! The Lady Royals have won 22 games this season while only losing 3. Their latest victims were Rowan County, Nicholas County, Scott and Henry Clay. Those 4 straight wins, which is their current win streak are coming off the heels of a 54-41 loss to #2 Campbell County. Mason County will travel to Paris to battle Bourbon County on Tuesday and host Brossart on Friday.
2. Campbell County (18-7):
Campbell County has gone 4-2 since their upset of #1 Mason County back on January 29th. Campbell County went 2-1 last week defeating Newport and Ryle while falling to Covington Holmes. Campbell County will host Simon Kenton tomorrow, travel to Sacred Heart and Cov Holy Cross Wednesday and Friday.
3. George Rogers Clark (14-10):
Lady Cards split last week, defeating Lexington Catholic 65-48 but falling to Covington Holmes by nearly the same score, 60-48. Maaliya Owens and Sydney Anderson led the Lady Cards with 17 as they defeated Lexington Catholic.. Sydney Anderson led the way with 19 in the loss to Cov Holmes. GRC will host Casey County, Bryan Station and Southwestern tomorrow, Wednesday and Friday.
4. Scott (14-11):
Lady Eagles have hit a rough spot lately, going 3-5 in their last 8 games, 2-4 in their last 6 games. Wins came over GRC, Dixie Heights and Brossart. Lady Eagles did play Mason County well before falling 74-66. Scott will host Harrison County and Bracken County tomorrow and Wednesday and travel to Beechwood on Thursday.
5. Bracken County (17-8):
Bracken County was won 6 of their last 8 games but are 1-2 in their last 3 games. Losses to Notre Dame and GRC while defeating Paris. Lady Bears will travel to Scott on Wednesday and Robertson County on Friday.
6. Montgomery County (11-16):
Lady Indians are playing some good ball as of late after starting and going through the season on a rocky road. Lady Indians are 5-1. Montgomery County will host Lexington Catholic on Tuesday and travel to Harrison County on Friday.
7. Bourbon County (15-13):
Despite being 2 games above .500 the Lady Colonels are 6-8 against region opponents and 2-4 against district opponents Lady Colonels have won 2 in a row and 3 of their last 4 games. Both wins came against both Laurels (North and South). Bourbon County will host Mason County and Woodford County Tuesday and Friday.
8. Nicholas County (13-13):
Lady Jackets ended their 4 game skid streak Saturday when they defeated Newport 44-36. Junior forward Autumn Martin led the way with 25 points in the win and also had 8 boards. Nicholas County will travel to Rowan County and Frankfort Tuesday and Thursday.
9. Bishop Brossart (10-14):
Lady Stangs have won just 2 of their last 8 games. Wins over Harrison County and Lloyd Memorial. Brossart does have a .500 record against region opponents as they are 5-4. Brossart will host Ludlow on Wednesday and travel to Mason County on Friday.
10. Pendleton County (8-15):
Since their 43-36 win over Harrison County, Pendleton County has lost 6 straight. 5 of those 6 losses were double digit losses with the closest loss out of the 5 being 50-38 loss to West Jessamine. Pendleton County will host St. Patrick and Dayton Monday and Friday and travel to Paris on Tuesday.
11. Harrison County (7-20):
Lady Breds have not won a game since January 7th where they defeated Augusta 63-37. Currently on a 10 game losing streak.
12. Paris (11-15):
Lady Hounds are 3-2 in their last 5 games. 6 of their 11 wins have came against region opponents, however, none of them are against the top 5 teams in the region.
13. Calvary Christian (10-13):
Calvary may have won 10 games so far this season, but they’ve only won 2 against region opponents.
14. Augusta (6-19):
Lady Panthers are still struggling. They win a game, lose a game, win a game then lose 3 straight before winning another game. That’s how their wins have came in form of.
15. Robertson County (4-17):
Robertson County is 1-5 in their last 6 games, lone win coming over Augusta.
16. St. Patrick (7-21):
St. Patrick are currently on a 9 game losing streak.
17. Silver Grove (1-17):
Lady Trains picked up their first win last week when they defeated Heritage Academy 28-20, the same team that defeated them earlier in the season by 18.
