1.Breathitt County (19-6):
Breathitt County continues being Breathitt County. Lady Cats have won 8 of their last 10 games. One of the losses they suffered came at the hands of Perry Central, 69-62 on the Lady Commodores home floor. Things are about to get real interesting as the Lady Cats travel to Hindman to face #2 and preseason region favorite, Knott Central no Friday. Breathitt County will then travel to Stanton to face Powell County on Saturday.


2.Knott County Central (16-7):
After taking a minor step back in mid-December as they went 1-4 in a 5 ga-me span, the Lady Pats have went on a 9-2 in those 11 games leading up to this week. Knott County Central will host Letcher Central and Breathitt County on Wednesday and Friday. Lady Pats will host Estill County on Saturday.


3.Leslie County (14-7):
Leslie County started the season off on a great note, going 9-1 in their first 10 games but have since gone 5-6 (3-2 last 5 games). Both of those losses in those last 5 games have came to region opponents Jenkins and Jackson City. Leslie County travels to Stanton on Thursday to face Powell County, a team they defeated 65-54 earlier in the season.


4.Perry County Central (11-7):
A short schedule is what the Lady Dores are playing this season. Lady Commodores have just 22 scheduled this season including first round of the district tournament, the Lady Dores are making the best of it here lately, winning 6 straight including wins over #1 Breathitt County and Jenkins. Perry Central will travel to South Floyd and Bell County on Thursday and Saturday.


5.Jenkins (11-12):
Lady Cavaliers have only won 11 games and have been struggling lately, going 2-5 in their last 7 games but they do own wins over Leslie County and Perry County Central. This however, is not the talk of the team, senior guard Whitney Creech became the states all time leading scorer last Tuesday when she dropped points as her Jenkins Lady Cavaliers went on to defeat Paintsville 90-87 in OT. Whitney would follow up that performance with another great performance dropping 64 of her teams 82 points on Perry County Centarl.



6.Powell County (12-7):
Lady Pirates got their 4 game win streak snapped on Friday when they were defeated by district foe, Lee County 67-63 on the Lady Pirates own home floor. The loss pushes the Lady Pirates district record to 4-1 with one game remaining against Owsley county. Powell County travels to Owsley County tomorrow, hosts Leslie County and Breathitt County on Thursday and Saturday.


7.Hazard (14-10):
After their 74-69 win over Estill County back on January 30th, the Lady Bulldogs have dropped the next two games. 64-56 to Letcher Central and 69-52 to Knott Central. Both losses coming on the Lady Bulldogs own home floor. Lady Bulldogs drew Perry Central in the first round of the 54th district tournament, much like the boys did. Hazard travels to Lexington Catholic and Berea Friday and Saturady.


8.Jackson City (10-9):
Jackson City has been playing good ball lately, winning 6 straight but only one of those 6 wins came against a top 5 region team as they Lady Tigers knocked off the Lady Eagles of Leslie County 51-50 last Thursday. Jackson City will host Owsley County and June Buchanan Wednesday and Friday.


9.Estill County (11-13):
After winning 4 straight and 5 of their previous 6 games at the end of December and early January, the Lady Engineers have gone 3-7 with a current 2 game win streak with wins over Model 41-38 and Pendleton County 57-39. Estill County travels to Lee County on Wednesday, hosts Berea on Friday and travels to Knott Central on Saturday.


10.Owsley County (9-10):
Lady Owls are struggling to put 2 wins together lately, last back to back wins came January 1th and 12th when the Lady Owls defeated Wolfe County and Lee County. Lady Owls were hammered hard last Monday when they fell 70-32 to Knott Central. Lady Owls would bounce back and defeat Buckhorn 42-28 but then fall again, as Clay County would defeat the Lady Owls 48-40. Owsley County will look to get back on track this week when they host Powell County on Tuesday, travel to Jackson City Wednesday, host Lee County on Friday.


11.Lee County (8-11):
Lady Katz are coming off a big 67-63 victory over Powell County over in Stanton last week, the win pushes Lee County’s winning streak to 3 games.


12.Letcher County Central (7-16):
Lady Cougars are struggling to get back to back wins together this season.


13.Buckhorn (10-14):
Buckhorn has won 3 straight but continues to struggle against region teams as they are 6 games below .500 at 6-12.


14.June Buchanan (10-8):
June Buchanan Lady Crusaders have won 5 straight as we head into this week.


15.Wolfe County (10-10):
Wolfe County has won 2 straight and 5 of their last 7 games.


16.Cordia (0-13):
Feb. 16 Cordia vs. Riverside Christian, one of these two teams will get their first win.


17.Riverside Christian (0-20):
Lady Rams can put points on the board as they’ve scored over 500 points this season but they are still searching for that first win. Will it come on Feb. 16 when they face Cordia?
