Why did Cooper and Conner voluntarily request to play in 6A?

I say they moved up so they can finally give NKY a decent showing in 6A since Dixie moved down. Lord knows without Dixie, Kenton Co had no one to represent so Boone Co schools will pick up the void.

I think SK fan is still upset over Dixie giving his pre season state champs a 2xs beat down last year.

Why would I be? SK beat Dixie twice the year before.

How do you know that? That's like me saying the last 4 years that Trinity couldn't beat Cooper to win a State Championship. It's easy to make a statement that can't be proven. Also pretty arrogant.

I don't have anything against Highlands at all, I'm just pointing out the arrogance of that statement you made when you know it can't be proven. You could insert any school in place of Highlands and the statement is still the same. Meaningless and without substance.

Coach Brossart is 3 and 2 vs SK in his three years at DHs.

....answer to original ? Because they are smart and have vision! Sorry for not throwing my 2 cents in earlier...projected 2,5,7,10 year residential housing growth will far exceed Kenton & Campbell counties. Boone county has space and will develop. Too many people are making $$$ not to!

It just makes good planning and development sense with a long term perspective ( what a concept )...decisions made with short and long term impacts considered!

Less old school, narrow minded mindsets to deal with as well. Coopers success within a short window is no accident. What folks need to be asking is what conditions have contributed to their less than 5 year success? But you didn't hear that from me...

Taking your side of it (and assuming Cooper isn't afraid to play anyone in the postseason) do you agree the Cooper powers that be believe they have a better chance to win the 6A State Championship than the 5A State Championship?

I may be in the minority here, but I don't think "having a better chance to win" had anything to do with it.
If anyone thought playing in 6A is any easier than winning in 5A must have been dropped on their heads one too many times lol. I would think if anyone had to sit down and think about which is easier to win a state championship in the answer would always be it's easier to win in 5A than 6A. So again, I don't think that had anything to do with the thought process of moving up to a higher class.

Agree. I'm sure it was a financial decision with them expecting less travel to be involved in 6A. Had they known HHS and CCH were moving up they probably would have stayed 5A as they would also have less travel while having a better opportunity for playoff success.

Shouldn't every high school football teams goal be to win the state championship?

And if so, why in the world would any school(s) voluntarily make it tougher to achieve their primary goal?

Great point. Which begs to question once again why is the same thing not being asked to CovCath and Highlands? Why move up to 5A when 4A would be easier to win. Especially CovCath who I believe even with their increasing enrollment would have been able to stay in 4A if they had wanted to.

I'm just curious why these two teams get questioned for moving up, when all the same arguments could be made for why did Highlands and CovCath move up?
