This is why I said this tack would be unpopular.

I'm not saying that's my opinion, and it isn't... but if you're going to throw that out there as what seperates X and T from the scrod, then I don't think you're really helping your argument.

With a response like that, you are showing a lack of knowledge of what it takes to win football games. I know you are smarter than that.

As stated earlier, why haven't Henderson Co. & North Hardin with great numbers been successful then??

Why does Highlands with one of ththe smallest schools in 3A dominate?

Why did Chuck Smith take Boyle Co. from an alsoran to the dominate team in 2A & 3A for several years????

Why did Beechwood start to dominate A as soon as Mike Yeagle took over?

Why has Male been successful with many less numbers than X & T????

Wildcat, when was the last time Male won the championship? When you can get kids from (Rocks) 13 counties (X) 12 counties its going to be hard to beat these 2 teams. Thats the way it is and we have to deal with it. If the parents choose to pay for a private education thats their choice and I see nothing wrong with that. But they have to realize their programs are stronger than ours and no one likes to lose all the time. Its like playing against All-Star teams. Manual had a really good year and lost to X twice and the Rocks once and if they played again the rams would lose again. I'd rather my sons go to the public school and if they play sports they might get to play than go to a school where there are so many kids and the chance to play is small. My $00.02

Male won in '01 I believe or in '00.

No disrespect to Trinity, but their talent this year is nothing like the '02 team that had Brohm, McBroom, May, Theiry, and Elbert, yet they still win.

They have had super talented teams, but the last two years have not been the case, yet no one in Louisville beats them outside of X. It is more than numbers......

Since X and Trinity are all-male schools of around 1500 students, that's equivalent to a co-ed school of 3,000 students. The next largest schools in the state are schools like Dunbar with about 1900 students. Translation : big advantage to X and T.
I'm sure there are other reasons for their dominance, as has been listed in this thread, but shear numbers are the main reason imo. It's not that big a factor in basketball because basketball doesn't require the numbers that football does to put a team on the floor.
I believe when Henderson County played Cincinnati Moeller this year Henderson County was actually the larger school. I believe Henderson County dressed 35 players while Moeller dressed 89 and that number only included just a few of their Sophs.

So sure the sheer numbers advantage help schools like X and T but sheer numbers mean nothing without participation.

One word...... TRADITION! It is a mentality that says "We are Trinity" "We are St. X" "We are the best! We should win this game!" The mentality comes from TRADITION. Ive heard coaches many times say that the sticker on your helmet or the name across the front of your jersey doesnt mean anything, and thats total baloney. Let me say it again, TRADITION, TRADITION, TRADITION!

Not to mention the best High School Championship game ever played IMO Trinity Vs. Male....Brohm vs. Bush...

Take a couple guys out of the box on D and Male might have a couple more titles. They always seem to have the best talent...

X won the title last year without a single D1 scholarship player. How is this possible? I thought X and T had talent to spare?
