If the entire 10-team field was reseeded top 4 teams get byes the first round. Which would then mean a round of 8, semifinals and finals, who would win?

    2. Mayfield .7532
    3. Somerset .7528
    4, Boyle .7300
    5, Male .7164
    6. Johnson Central .7058
    7. CovCath .7041
    8. Bell .7037
    9. Paintsville .6946
    10. Douglass .6818
    11. Belfry .6377
    12. Trinity .6326

    GAME 1 - Pikeville vs. Bell/Paintsville winner.
GAME 2 - Mayfield vs CovCath/Frederick Douglass winner.
GAME 3 - Somerset vs Johnson Central/Belfry winner.
    GAME 4 - Boyle vs Male/Trinity winner.

Game 1 winner vs Game 4 winner.

I would take Male or Trinity, but would love to see this playoff even though would never happen. Covington Catholic would be my third choice.

Why do the small schools get byes in the playoffs?
It should be set up with Trinity and Male on opposite ends?

I think this question would be better served after this weekends games. As it will only be a debate and would never actually happen.

I hate this yearly debate. RPI means nothing across classes, and in 95% of the years the 6A Champ is far and away the best.

This is THAT year where Boyle County would have a good chance, if not win the whole thing. I haven't seen them in person, only on video, and talked to a college recruiter I know, and he said they have some really special kids on their roster. I'm not saying that Make or Trinity aren't great, but this could 've the year a lower than 6A team could win.

Toss up between CCH, Boyle, Male, and Trinity. Most years Trinity would be the easy choice, not this year though.

I think Cov Cath could easily hang with Male or Trinity. Other than that I don’t see anyone else winning it. My picks would go
    1. Male
    2. Trinity
    3. Cov Cath

Boyle would have a legit shot as Male would have to beat Trinity then play Boyle. That’s a very tough turnaround. Then that winner would have to beat CCH or Douglass.

I agree but this is hypothetical based on RPI. Definitely a flaw in the RPI system overall.

Male or Trinity, and I don’t think it would be close.

Based on how Boyle did against Central, I believe Male and Trinity would beat Boyle by couple of scores.
