Who else besides the star players in the 1A Championship needs to have a good game?

What other players need to play good for there team to have a better shot at winning the title? We all know players like Connor Roberts and Logan Castleman are going to show up and have good games. Who else will need to do it?

The biggest key to this game for Beechwood is going to be the 3 linebackers (Jake Sherron, Tyler Donoho, and Mitchell Corts). They have to contain the running yardage of Conner Roberts. If he has a big running day then Beechwood could be in trouble.

I agree with that but maybe more important is the defensive ends in Beechwoods schemes have to keep on Roberts and the read option like they did against Simon Kenton. Bolger and Baugh have a big responsibility not to bite on the fakes and also get quick pressure on the QB.

Bwtigerpaw hit on the names I thought of for Beechwood. Also Shepherd at linebacker. The linebackers and defensive ends are the keys for the Beechwood defense against Roberts.

The other person that could come up big is John Odom at wide receiver and defensive back. He also returns punts and can make a big play there.

    For Pikeville:
Christian Billiter is one of the State leaders in interceptions and he will draw Odom of Beechwood. Even more important will be his ability to assist in run support.

On Offense Billiter will need to catch some balls and make sure Beechwood honor the deep threat

For Pikeville also it looks like #1 Jackson Hensley is all over the stat book. He rushes the ball out of the backfield, he catches the ball split out, he falls just shy of being a leader in tackles most games. It would seem they need to make sure they don't forget about him when keying on Roberts
