A lot still remains obviously, but assuming all teams are healthy by season's end (Jackson, Nussbaum, etc.) who do you consider to be the favorite?

You asking about 1A or 2A? Thread title says 2A. Is that a typo?

No doubt Hazard and Mayfield in the finals with Beechwood having a shot against Mayfield in Fort Mitchell.

We'll know a lot about Beechwood after Friday night. Early in the year, for 1A, it's all about how you do against the higher classes because you can't get any smaller! It makes rankings interesting (to say the least).

I agree.

As long as Jackson is 100% , I like Mayfield's chances

I would have to pick Bw followed closely by Haz then everyone else

I am now brainwashed. Simon Kenton is the clear cut favorite.....in any class.

TP ... that is really just silly talk. Why in the world would Beechwood be the favorite? They haven't beaten Mayfield in three years, one man wrecking crew Jackson is still in a Cardinals uniform and the Tigers lost their whole team from last year.
Hazard is the favorite. Mayfield is #2.

Put me with VOR, you are losing your credibility TP.

Oh yea, forgot about them. I have the Cards at #1 and Haz or Bw at #2. I think Mayfield is clearly going to be the team to beat this year and will be suprised if Bw or Haz has enough to take them down. With Jackson pretty much helpless the entire 2nd quarter Fri the Cards lost but showed a great effort without him and got within 6 with just a few minutes left in the game against a team that was better than any we will see in 1A. Jackson has not been cramp prone in the pasts and someone said it was thought to be caused by a medication he was taking so I don't expect that to be a ongoing concern in a couple of weeks if that is correct information. I know VOR said BW is susposed to be big and physical up front but I do not see them being anything we can't handle and even if they can slow our running down I think we are so 2 dimensional that we have the upper hand even if played in the Fort which I don't think matters to us any as we seem to play just as well on the road even at great distances. Haz also has a new line but I think we would welcome a chance to play them. I think the Cards view this as a redemption campaign and I fully expect a title but I also have learned that you have to be not only good but lucky too. A injury to a key player can turn everything on its head in 1A

Meant to be funny, not credible.

My tactic is that if we all jump on the Simon Kenton bandwagon and build them up to be the Greatest Show on Turf, that we will return to insightful and meaningful posts on BGP.

Hazard has to be considered the favorite till proven otherwise
followed by Mayfield, Beechwood, and I'm going to step out on a limb and go with Frankfort then Russelville as my top 5

I think Russellville might be over rated. Raceland should be in the mix.

I think Raceland is in the mix, but when asking "who is the favorite" I would have to concede that anyone other then Mayfield, Beechwood, and Hazard could not be considered the "Favorite".
