Who are the top defensive backs in KY in 2019?

This is a strong year for DBs in Kentucky. If one (or in Boyle's case, two) of these guys has a spot in your last line of defense, your secondary's in good hands.

    The obvious ones for me...

Vito Tisdale (Sr., Bowling Green/offers from UK, Oklahoma, and Alabama)

Devin Neal (Sr., Frederick Douglass/Cincinnati commit)
    2018 - 55 tackles/1 int.
Devin Neal JR season - Devin Neal highlights - Hudl

Reese Smith (Sr., Boyle County/WVU commit)
    2018 - 55 tackles/3 ints./2 forced fumbles
Junior Season Highlights - Reese Smith highlights - Hudl

Landen Bartleson (Sr., Boyle County/Notre Dame commit)
    2018 - 35 tackles/2 ints.

    Josh Minkins (Sr., Ballard/Louisville commit)
    2018 - 3 interceptions
Junior Year Highlights - Josh Minkins Jr highlights - Hudl

Tre Goodin (Sr., Taylor County/EKU commit)
    2018 - 63 tackles
22 ATH Tre Goodin season Off/DEF - TRE GOODIN highlights - Hudl

    John Walker Phelps (Sr., Paintsville)
    2018 - 61 tackles/3 ints.
JUNIOR SEASON - John Walker Phelps highlights - Hudl

Darius Jones (Sr., Butler/Air Force commit)

So far in this young season, how are these guys performing?

I’ll put Jake Brass is the conversation from Highlands. 3 picks 1 TD in 2 games... A big hitter too.

From watching Vito play, i’d Say there’s been a max of 5 passes thrown to his side of the field through the first 2 games.

I've been very impressed with his tackling as well. He gets low, and tackles at the proper level.

Kaelin Drakeford Mercer County was 2nd team All State Courier Journal and 4A District 5 player of the year as a Junior playing in the same district as Goodin. Had two picks and two fumble recoveries against Anderson Friday Night.

Keep an eye on Bryce Yates at Manual. The numbers won’t show much cause he’s only been targeted 4 times this season.

My guy, Bryce Yates! He's a great player and a great kid. He definitely deserves to be listed.

Also, Adriene Bailey at Eminence is having a strong start to the season. Top 5 in the state in INT.

Drakeford was a game changer at safety last Friday night, in Lawrenceburg. Tremendous athlete.

I will throw in from South Oldham

    Trey Garrison, Sr, DB
    J.T. Benson, Sr, Safety

Very good ballhawks and solid tacklers!
