Which 6A teams would you rank above Trinity?

Page 2 of I saw some wailing and gnashing of teeth about not Trinity being ranked lower in the BGP 6A rankings. Obviously Male gets ranked higher since they beat... 49 comments | 2442 Views | Go to page 1 →

I would rank Boone County and Ryle a head of Trinity.

    That doesn't answer the question.

How do you rank teams with identical records?

It all depends on who the teams are.

Lol that is pretty funny. Look no one in KY, accept Scott County, and maybe Male and Cov Cath, would have beat any of the teams Trinity has faced, and to be honest the games would not be competitive. Trinity lost three of the games by like a total of 10 or 11 points. Trinity scrimmaged Ryle and beat them by a gazzilon points and would absolutely crush SK, Boone County and Ryle in real games this year. Male, Scott County and Cov Cath are probably the only teams in KY that can beat Trinity. So in 6a right now it should be 1. Male, 2. Scott County, 3. Trinity.

Definitely flawed logic. If that's the case, then why not just schedule all bunny teams, so that you can be at the top of the rankings? No, in a rational system, strength of schedule and head to head match-ups and/or comparative teams matter.

There are certain programs that is their goal.

If Trinity were to get a win this week, the only other quality in state opponent they have left is St. X. That being said, it’s hard to rank them in the top 5 even if they were to get a win over St. X. The rest of the schedule is highly questionable.

After seeing how things have started this year the 6-A bar is set with Male, Scott County, and Trinity. X will challenge them but no other team can go 4 quarters with the Rocks.

I don't personally care where Trinity is ranked. I'm just looking for some W's at the end of the year. That said, I think some kids need to step up as leaders for the Rocks. If it has to be juniors or sophomores, so be it.

Coincidentally isn't that SK's record against Trinity? At least we scored in all of our losses.

Reason #4900920894390 you don't do any rankings.

This is a really good point. If Trinity does lose to Naperville Central and St. X then it will be hard to rank them above 4th or 5th, just because while they were competitive they will not have any wins against top quality teams. Besides Ballard, the district slate of Eastern, Jeffersontown, and Seneca is bad. With that said, a Trinity team that is 4-6 at the end of the year is likely still better than all but a small handful of teams in 6A.
