Because of cross bracketing, 5A District 5 is actually in the west half of the bracket this season, and paired with District 3 (Bullitt, Nelson, Oldham district).
My guess is the #1 seed from District 3 will get a bye in the first week of the playoffs.

Notice they address the 1A and 5A issues where there is a 3 team district, but not others. Grant dropped out of district play after this alignment was approved, and the KHSAA likely won't replace another team as the 4 seed.
The same thing happened last season in 3A District 5. Sheldon Clark dropped out leaving only 3 teams in the district. Russell was the #1 seed in the opposing district for the playoffs and they received a bye for the first round.
