Tyler Pack (Johnson Central) Named Ray Guy All American Kicker

Tyler Pack (Johnson Central - Class of 2016) named to Ray Guy's All American Kicking team (one of the most respected in the country when it comes to kickers). Tyler has the state record for longest FG (60 yards) and longest punt (89 yards). Follow link below for more information:

In other news, UK came to JC yesterday to speak with Tyler. Heard it was a great meeting from both sides. I would love to see Pack in Blue and White and I know he would like to be there. I believe they are working out the tuition issue before you see an official signing.

    Congratulations to Tyler!

If you never got see Tyler's state record 89 yard punt then follow the link below and go to the 3:40 minute mark on the video. He punts from his own endzone and the ball is downed on the opponent 1 yard line.

Sign? My guess is if we see him wearing blue and white this season it will be as a PWO.

Clyde has the most likely scenario. If he does choose UK he will probably be PWO his first year and then scholarship year by year after that. That is why they are looking at tuition cost for the first year. This scenario is the same for all the schools that have been in contact with Tyler and there have been many.

But who knows, there is speculation some financial support may be offered in his true freshman year.

The young man can still sign. It's just not a scholarship.. It something that our local news can cover and give the kid some publicity.

How many PWO offers does he have and where are they to?

Haven't seen Tyler in a while to get a feel on what he is thinking or where he wants to go. Schools that have contacted regarding him during this past season that I can think of off the top of my head are: UK, Louisville, Tennessee, Pitt, Florida, Air Force, North Carolina, West Virginia, Mizzou and Georgia. Some coaching changes occurred at Mizzou and Georgia so I'm not sure if there is still any interest there. Florida has two committed kickers so I would probably remove them as well. UK ran into a member of our coaching staff and said that Tyler was a priority. That comment strikes a nerve in a way because they went out and grabbed a punter from Stoops' backyard in Ohio for a scholarship. If he was a priority then why was he not the recipient of a scholarship? Tyler has the grades and ACT to get most, if not all, of his future expenses paid through academics, maybe that was their line of thinking. This is the 3rd year in a row that UK has asked a kid from JC to come down and work their way towards a scholarship. Quade Ward declined and decided to enroll in their engineering program. Tristen Salyers is currently at UK and from what we've been told he has done everything to earn a scholarship should one open up. Now Tyler. Yes they are the flagship program of the state and almost every young man from our hollers dream of going to play for the Blue and White but on the other hand you still have to have your self respect. I wish Tyler nothing but the best when deciding on what he wants to do, however a part of me wishes that he would go to UofL or another school with a better pedigree.

The staff is currently arranging visits for him following basketball season; Mississippi State, North Carolina, UK and possibly Virginia Tech. Also, USAFA has called several us and Tyler several times but not sure if he is interested in going that route.

Congrats to Mr. Pack and it's an excellent pick up for UK. I hope he gets a full ride asap.
