Default Trinity ranked No. 13 in Super 25 preseason football poll

Trinity High School is ranked No. 13 in the initial USA Today Preseason Super 25 high school football poll.
Miami Central is the top-ranked team.
Also on the Super 25 is No. 14 Cincinnati Moeller. Trinity plays at Moeller on Oct. 26 in its regular-season finale.
Trinity, which has won 21 state championships, is coming off a 14-0 season.

This is why preseason polls are stupid and unfair. Trinity has basically been eliminated from any chance to finish #1 before playing a game. Polls should not start until week 4

Were we even in the top 25 to start?

High school football polls are a different animal. More often than not if you lose you drop far and very fast. If Trinity goes undefeated I expect them to be in the mix for #1 based off of their schedule.

Right, but last season earned you a chance to get ahead of the log jam. You will get into the top 5, but should be there to start the season. If this was Cincy St. X, and they returned everyone that you are from such a huge season, they would be sitting at #3 right now w a chance to move up only 2 spots. T has to hope that big wins will leap frog them into the Top 5, whereas if you start the season at #5, sweeping the GCL South again would potentially push you to 1.

State rankings are tough enough, national rankings are extremely difficult with way too much guess work involved. However, they are all fun to talk about.

With a brand new O-line I'm kind of surprised we're that high.

In 2010 Dale was called and interviewed and was told they would be pre-season ranked #17 in USA Today one week before they played Trinity in a scrimmage. Trinity beats the Birds and Highlands never sees the top 25 all yr.
As others have stated, rankings should not begin until the 4th week of a season and I agree.
Is this the earliest this pre-season poll has come out? I dont recall this coming out so early in yrs past.

Shouldn't Trinity at least be in the top 5? I know strength of schedule can't be holdin them back.

So what? They play Moeller, St. X, and Elder. Outside of '04 Colerain, nobody has run through all 3 of those teams. The GCL South is traditionally one of the toughest leagues in the entire country.

Let's face facts. You're no more likely to give Trinity the full credit they deserve for their accomplishments last year then I am to start calling Mike Glaser an offensive genius and innovator.

Agreed, if you can beat those 3 then you're in the top 5 in the country no questions asked, if you are willing to schedule them and think you can win then you're probably in the top 10 or insane, I don't think the Rocks are insane.

So now you're going to imply that this great run puts trinity in the same category as Texas, Florida, and California ball?
