Ryle is instantly a contender with a QB like this.

Sidenote: I don't get why QBs build a HUDL film and feature the deep ball. A lot of kids can throw a deep ball. The pass I want to see is the long out he threw on about the 5t pass. That tells me how he can throw.

    Nice QB.

    Nice QB.

LOL, agreed. Actually the hardest pass for a QB to throw in the game is the swing pass which as you know is a pass that is thrown as the recv is both running away from the QB and up field requiring precision.

Heck, Andy Dalton can throw that one...but he cant throw the long out or the deep ball...

From the tape the kid appears to be no where near 6'2/204, but he is only a sophomore and 15 or 16 years old when the film was done. Everyone escalates their height and weight on these recruiting props.

He has plenty of arm strength and I would say he is a very nice prospect.

Will he get to throw it at Ryle like he did at Hazard?

Ryle wanted to throw it around alot more last year. Just didn't have anyone who could be accurate enough to do so. Tanner should definitely make teams defend the whole field not just load the box. The run game will be stronger when you have a passing game and vice-a-verso. This is a good upgrade to a team that was on the cusp of contending.

I know I will be in the minority, but I have always felt this kid was a little over hyped. It is good to see the video and see recent highlights. My opinion of him is higher after watching the video. I want to put those comments in perspective. I say over hyped because many people appear to think of him as the next Barker. Personally, I don't see him anywhere near that level of talent. I see him as an above average high school QB. I have doubts about him playing QB at the next level.

Likes: Good leader and decision maker on the field. I like his guts making tough throws and trusting his receivers to make plays. His accuracy on throws in the video looks good on some of those tough throws with pretty good coverage on his receivers. My guess is he is a dedicated, hard working kid and he appears confident. That counts for a lot in your QB.

Dislikes: I see the positive comments above about arm strength but this is my biggest dislike about him. I have never been impressed with his arm. The ball doesn't jump out of his hand. He is an effort thrower and that is why I have doubts about him on the next level. His arm strength will be fine in high school but beyond that ... more work to do in my opinion.

I am really interested in seeing how he does and hope he proves me wrong on being a next level QB. I always root for kids to have success and get the most out of their God given ability.

This is exactly why I put Ryle on TOP this season, because of this young man. HellCat still think Cooper is going to beat Ryle this year, dream on!

I think he will flourish under Engler and Arvin. He will just be a Junior so he has time to work on his game. He's a good kid who has never had a effort deficiency.

A couple things I like just from watching it one time:
    1) Makes very good pre-snap decisions on where to attack the defense based on the play called, that is why he is getting rid of the ball quickly. Would like to see more passes where he comes off of one receiver and has to reset and find another, only seen it once on the highlight(that I remember).
    2) The best throws were made on the run.

A few things I think need work:
    1) To big of a stride when he goes to throw the ball, I like it when the ball of the foot hits the ground first on the stride, instead of the heel landing first.
    2) Takes false steps on the drop back, not all the time but quite often.
    3) Picks the back foot(rt foot) when throwing the ball, could be because of the long stride or lack of arm strength. I like the toe to drag behind.

Heck, he is only a sophomore and you can tell he is an athlete and will only get better. I look forward to seeing him in person.

My comment on his arm strength is based on the fact he is only 15 or 16 years old. Depending on maturation, an effort thrower at that age can have a cannon once they develop physically.

Based off the tape, this kid has plenty of arm strength at his age. In fact, I have seen very few 15 year olds where the ball jumps from their hand. If so, the kid is 15 with the physical maturity level of a 20 year old.

I am with you on this. When he was being hyped as an 8th grader I just didn't see it. He has improved 110% since then but just as Clyde pointed out the long ball is one throw most can make, it's the other throws I want to see.

He he looks really good though and I am higher on him than I was before I saw the video. Now Rule needs someone besides England out of the backfield to throw to.

he also only really had one throw and that was the deep ball. Again it will be interesting to see him make other throws.
