A very good win for the Tigers. Butler is better than I thought and will make some noise before it is over.

If they had a passing game could realy make some noise. Offensive line dominated X d-line most of the night. Junior RB was better than what Carmondy Calls the best RB in Jefferson Co.. Thats right he had been their before as a Freshman playing in a varsity game. The Butler team very experience again'st the best team in the state, but Carmondy quite when he didn't score on 4th down with 9 minutes to go 28-7.

Butler showed that they were a much better team than last season. Coach Carmody has done an outstanding job in developing these young men. It will be very interesting to see how they stack up against Manual in the district.

I didn't see big Josh Jordan playing much, if any, at DG for the Tigers last night. His presence makes a big difference in the performance of the St. X. front four.

Speaking of line dominance, I felt the Tiger linemen really pinned their ears back and blew the Butler front away when Coach Glaser decided to just play smash mouth. St. X. just lined up in their split-back veer and kept running dives and traps for big solid yardage. The blocking was so strong that QB Brian Buehner seldom if ever resorted to the QB keep or pitch phases of the triple veer option series.

A lot of the rushing yardage achieved by the Bears last night came on two third and long draw plays where the Butler team on the sidelines would scream "PASS" as the QB dropped back. The St. X. linebackers and secondary were totally dupped by this play.

your d-line got dominated all night, david sivado got beat once, and then thats who they ran behind all night. Carmody and rest of the butler people don't understand why they are 6-1. ashame. Even St.X is miffed about this, haven't been dominated by a Butler line since 1979.

Sounds like an x-coach who has experienced the same sensation...how sad!
    Do I detect some dissention?

The absolute best thing of the night was seeing soph Lucas Tutwiler in the end zone waving to his teammates and crowd prior to the game. It was truly remarkable seeing him walk onto the field less than a week after neck surgery from the injury in the Trinity game. Best wishes to Tut and his family from all football fans around the state.
