I agree that Coach Brown made the correct call under those circumstances. The coach knows his team best and in the heat of battle he would be the only one to accurately make that decision. I wonder how many of these critics have EVER been in a situation even close to that of last night's game. We can all analyze and critique but the decision was made by a VERY qualified person.

^ what are you getting at? Everyone agrees with Coach Brown, and he almost made himself a legend. But it looks as if you are trying to pick for something taht we all agree on.

Kudos deserve to go out to the Tiger D for stopping him and forcing the fumble. The blocked punt was a great defensive play by JH and poor execution by the Tigers-it took way to long to get the punt attempt off after an excellent snap. Being a former Ram, you should remember the two blocked extra point attempts against your team along with last nights blocked punt-these have equally to do with poor execution from a normally bullet proof special teams squad. The "un-X-like" mistakes were a delay of game call while attempting to audible, a lineman jumping on 3rd and short inside the JH 30 with "mo" on our side and another drive killing penalty in the 2nd quarter which resulted in a Tiger punt. Please explain how you "game prepare" for that as a defense and I'll be glad to pass it on to Coach G to use next week against Warren Central. JH played an outstanding game, had a great season and I am not trying to take anything away from their efforts-it is just a fact that the X-Men normally make mistakes like these very rarely at this point in the season. Are you sure the grapes just might still be a little sour with the Rams demise at the Tigers expense?

I was at the game and let me tell you I was ready to be sick on the sidelines with 49 seconds to go. The ending was almost too much for me to watch. X performed great all night but gave up too many "big plays." X stopped their running game cold with 49 yards total. The biggest and most glaring problem was the long pass. JH was 5-21 for 279 yards!!! Everytime I thought X had them on the ropes here comes a long bomb for 50-60 yards. I mean seriously you cant write an ending like that. The blocked punt was somebody missing their assignment. I was standing on the sidelines with Doherty SCREAMING to the punter "THEIR COMMING" over and over. As soon as the ball was snapped the guy came in without so much as a tiger looking at him. That got the ball rolling into a nightmare that I couldnt wake up from. I couldnt sleep until 4am this morning thinking about that 2 point conversion over and over. YIKES!

That announcer cracked me up. Ive never been to a game with somebody like that on the mic. I could see how it could get under the skin of a lot of people. As far as the restrooms Im with you on that. My father left at the beginning of halftime to get to the restroom. He didnt make it back until hte start of the 4th quarter. :creepy:

Remember X fans, you won the game. Imagine if you had lost like we did and then listen to the PA guy. Sounds like a great game and congrats to both teams for a truly Playoff game. JH has some very nice fans and I hope to see them next year. X good luck with your neXt game and get a win against WC.

Let me know what happened Dog when you can talk about it.
    Where do I start:

Opening drive, start at the JH 20 go 79 yards fumble into the endzone X gets the ball on 20, took 8 mins off the clock. Both teams feeling each other out durning the first half 7-7 score at the half.

Second half X uses there large line and great field position to build an 14 point lead. John (D.J.) blocks a punt, John first an goal from the 3, score 21-14. Johns D steps up again an forces X to turn the ball over on downs on the John 30 with 50 seconds left. Long pass down field, complete first and goal, score 21-20. John goes for 2, pass incomplete, went through the hands of the John reciever.

Congrats to the X fans and team welled played ball game, hated to see the John team lose, but I think it will be to the state champs.

Congrats to this site for giving me the opportunity to shout out about the John Hardin Bulldogs, had some great threads. Next year maybe I'll have more to Jaw about the dogs. Until then Dawg out!!!

I thought the Coach should go for two. He and his team came to win. I also think he didn't feel he could win in OT. A great game ending in great fashion.

In 1999, X was down 3 in OT with 4th and 1, went for the W and got it. Won the State.

He was just cheerleading the whole game. Screaming to the crowd to "Get on your feet and make some noise for the BULLDOGS!!!" and other things like it the whole game. I thought it was kinda funny but I could see where it would get on opposing fans nerves.

Does anyone know if this is allowed by KHSAA rules or not?

I thought the announcer was supposed to be an impartial, neutral party, sort of like an official.

Inflection in voice is one thing; but out and out cheerleading is another, the only thing that guy didn't have was Pom Pom's!
