A big congratulations to the Spartans! What a solid team, top to bottom!

While the game didn't turn out the way I would have liked it to, it was still a great game to watch! Cov Cath made some fairly effective adjustments at halftime, but it just wasn't enough to overcome the first half deficit that they got themselves into at the hands of South Warren. I'm still proud of my Colonels, they played a tough game and had a fantastic team this season, but today belonged to South Warren.

I'd go with Male, but I can see an argument for South Warren.

For me, I just think Louisville has an edge.

No. CovCath was pushing the pile forward. The pile was moving when the ball popped out.

It’s Male, SW, then CovCath. I agree.

And you’re also correct about Louisville in general.

Cov Cath was definitely still pushing the pile forward, but the interesting part was the fact that the line judge on the South Warren side of things was already at the hash lines waving his hands over his head to stop the play when the ball popped out.

Lots of could'ves, would'ves and should'ves looking back at the game.

Yeah, that’s not his call. Im nit-picky when I watch officiating crews. On that same play, the linesman was in WAY too far when the ball came out. He should have never been that close to the action.

This thread is about the game, not who is best in the state. That would make a fine thread of its own, but no more discussing that in this one.

Was very surprised by the outcome. I thought Cov Cath would win this for sure. That’s why they play the game. Listened to it on the radio though and it was quite exciting. Congratulations to the Spartans. Colonels, I was rooting for you to bring home the trophy, but you have nothing to hang your head about.

These games this year have certainly been dog fights!

IMO I think CovCath fans should take time to appreciate just how incredible this past year was for us. I'm still soaking in all the victories. What a year. Congrats to South Warren on pulling off the upset and I wish all the best for the Spartans and my Colonels.

Knee was down and the ground caused the fumble.

Not on what NFHS video showed. But, the scrum action used to be illegal in my day, and candidly I don't like it and think it still should be. Becoming far to much in todays game. But, maybe it is just part of our football transitioning toward rugby as we try to take concussions out of the game. Perhaps those $1,000 new helmets will look good on shelves when new rules dictate "no helmets" to take leading with it out of the game.

We may be talking about different plays. The play I am talking about happened on the opening drive and when Bush leaped forward he held the ball out and when his hand holding the ball hit the ground the ball popped out. It was clear as day on the replay at the game. This wasn’t a scrum action type of play. That was the McGinness fumble.

SW lost to Cov Cath 43-7 last year in the playoffs. Do y’all think SW drastically improved, Cov Cath dropped off a lot from last year, or some combination of both?
