Trying to hear it on the visitor's side of the field it is difficult for me to think of one worse.

I was starting to wonder if everything would be ready for the season but things appear to be coming together

So CCH decided to name their stadium after a man who was found guilty of cheating his family out of millions of dollars?

    Interesting.

Thanks for the pictures, it looks sharp with the contrast of blue vs black vs green.

The stadium is named after Dennis Griffin, the father of 12 and family patriarch. The monetary legal issues arose between the Griffin brothers and sisters. The sisters are the ones who sued the brothers for cheating them out of there share after Dennis had passed. It is reported that it was the intent of the wills of Dennis and his wife were that the fortunes were to be shared by all 12 kids. The brothers are the ones who apparently swindled the sisters. So, where is it shown, that Dennis Griffin was found guilty of anything?

Dennis is one of the brothers and is not the patriarch (his name was John) so yes, unfortunately the stadium is named for one of the brothers. The naming and donations to the school were well before all of that came to light. You are correct that Dennis is deceased, which I think was 2015.

The new sound system definitely needs some tweaking from what I heard over the weekend. Visitor side of the stadium it was not very easy to hear what the announcers were saying.

Dennis was the oldest son of John. He took over as head of the company from his father in 1979. Dennis was first sued by his sister Betty in 1990 for mishandling their parents' estates. Dennis settled with her out of courts. Then three of the sisters filed suit against their brothers Dennis, Griff, and Robert in 2013. Dennis died in 2015, and in 2016 a federal judgment found Dennis' estate and his brothers liable for paying out $548 million to their sisters, whom they had defrauded.

Even if they told Dennis prior to 2013 that they would name the stadium after him this is still a bad look for CCH.

They had the volume turned down on Saturday while I was there.

I was hoping it was an easy fix like that and nothing major.

Why is it a bad look. This wasn't a criminal matter but a civil. Businesses get sued everyday. I don't have an issue with it. I believe the issue with the sisters has been settled in court so what's the issue?

I do apologize that I read the news articles wrong.....old age creeping up. I was partially correct though in Dennis's passing and the question whether he should be linked to criminal activity. That's a topic for another forum other than BGP.

A little video footage of the renovated stadium, along with some interview segments with AD Tony Bacigalupo.

The sound system along with the new LED lights are first class. The sound system will go through some trial and error (for each sport since they use different PA personnel) to get the kinks worked out, in short time it will be not be an issue. The lights are crazy good, very little to no glare or pollution with the source all on the playing surface, state of the art. Big question is when will the new main entrance be completed?
