Is Saladin an Inside Linebacker this season? He played OLB last season.

He is a beast, as a Soph had like 80 tackles in like 4 games. Wrapped up 20 in a semifinal game against Scott County as a Soph. And that was playing along 2 now D1 LB’s (Jackson High at UK and Collin Demetrakus at L’ville) He’s the real deal. Next to the Kelly kid from NCC he may be among the best in NKY

Who? 80 tackles in 4 games as a sophomore? Alrighty then. Might want to get on Ryle for not reporting stats right because they didnít report those stats. Who is recruiting this player?

As a Soph he started final couple games and into the playoffs defensive scheme with the other two LBs funneled everything to him so he got a bunch. He is the real deal but prob undersized for D1 Quick and can play sideline to sideline. Definitely D2 or D3 capable. Not sure about the stat keeping at Ryle. I sorta kept track as I ran the Ryle Twitter for the previous 2 seasons so I could tweet out plays and stats after games. Kids enjoyed that, but mine were definitely not official.

That 2016 Ryle defense was pretty stout!
Weren't many kinks in that chain, don't see many groups of kids so dedicated to each other.

So... you were a little enthusiastic in your reporting of stats. But I certainly agree he is among the areas best LBs, top five and maybe top two. He was recognized last season on the 1st team defense by NKAFC.

For the record, his # of tackles in last four games of his sophomore season were 14, 10, 9, and 6 for a total of 39 in 4 games, not too shabby. He had 60 total tackles in 13 games on the season.

This does not take away from the high praise given him. He plays with a lot of heart and has good athleticism, as has been mentioned. He is legit sideline to sideline type player. I expect he will have a great season and be among the best linebackers in the area once again. Certainly could play D2 and I wouldn't count him out of D1. I look forward to seeing him play this season. I hope Boone gives Ryle coaches a reason to keep Saladin on the field.

No question, I’m no stat guy. Trying to do stats and tweet at he same time, needed 4 arms and 2 brains. Still don’t know how they keep Track of solos vs assisted. I’m really optimistic for Ryle this season. I really think they are crazy fast and athletic. Coaches hopefully Learned their lessons from last year. Losing Coach Wolfe is bad, but his replacement in Coach Collinsworth is a great move. Kids will run through a wall for him, and that adds a ton more to speed and athleticism even on Defense. Loose a bunch of starters on Oline. But they look good too. Jake Gideon committed to Western MI so he will just play mow people down.

It varies with coaches. But I will tell you that nobody can count the number of tackles a player makes like a father who slows each play down and goes frame by frame to see who made the tackle. And when in doubt, give the tackle to your son.

I had to laugh at this OG, I filmed the games for Kyle's 7th and 8th grade years for the team. When I said that he ran for a little over 6,300 yards and had 94 Td's in two years I'm sure some thought no way and at best I was just guesstimating. They had no idea about the hours I put in tracking every single yard play by play... That's what Dad's do, you hit that nail right on the head. If no one knows the stats a kids dad knows the one's for his son! Especially one that has the game films. JOAT knows his son's kicking stats better than HHS or their stat keepers. He knew exactly which one's they reported incorrectly or omitted.

I like it. My kid was OLine. No stats. Was too busy watching Chisholm and England stomp down the field to watch him pancake kids.......after the whistle, lol

I watch the hudl film like I'm watching the game for the first time. Then I watch each position group one at a time. So I end up watching the film probably five or six times. If you do it that way you get to see all the plays all the kids make. You get to see some stuff that your eyes just don't catch when you're watching the whole picture.

Does Ryle only have 8 games scheduled for this season? That is all they have posted on the khsaa riherds scoreboard. They have two weeks off in a row at the end of September.
