First I would like to say that I am new to the sight. I really enjoy reading all the posts. As for the game prediction I will predict OCHS 37 Fort Cambell 13.

I agree that the east is down outside of Belfry and Russell. Prestonsburg, Breathitt County, and Middlesboro all had "down" years by their standards and there was only two eastern teams ranked in the top five when past years had as many as four. It's not saying that a team from the east won't win. It's just saying there are only one or two that can.

You guys have been hanging out with Rambo for too long. Fort Campbell has a nice team and some nice talent, but seven D-1 prospects might be laying it on a bit thick.

And doesn't Owensboro Catholic have some D-1 prospects, albeit for other sports, especially baseball? That alone means that this team has talent and athleticism.

Yeah, from the Owensboro Catholic people. Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy.

When has anybody here called Owensboro Catholic "overrated?" In the western Kentucky poll, I've rated the Aces second (behind Fort Campbell and ahead of Trigg County and Mayfield) for weeks. As far as I'm concerned, they are exactly where they should be.

I, too think the 03 team was better, but, fact is,theres still no trophies to show for it, therefore making this year a must win situation...Like you said, the talent level was better in 03, just like the talent level at Ft Campbell is better this year...I can't really say either team choked, it just so happened they ran into a hot team in Glasgow last year and Webster the year before...
Also, Ft Campbell already has a state championship or 2 in there trophy case, so, imo, the pressures on OC to get one...

I know this is hard to understand but there is no pressure on OC because their administration has no expectations of ever winning a state championship. Their coach and players do certainly, but their is no pressure other than what may be self imposed by coaches and players to win a state title in any sport. The administration thinks it would be nice but they really don't expect it. Now whether that is good or bad is left to debate. I personally think that it is bad, but it is reallity at Owensboro Catholic.

Nice talent, I would say it is awesome talent! I don't no how Coach Edge will even begin to game plan for this Division II college team. They have only allowed 50 something points all year!

As far as OC's D-1 prospects. Baseball doesn't start until March and this game will be long over and forgotten about by then.

I will give you your due, you have rated OC 2nd most all season. We always appreciate the love.

You didn't get the memo? They are allowing Catholic to use bats this week because they feel it is the only way to stop the Fort.

If Johnson's not at 100% I see the Aces winning late.

You guys from Catholic sure know how to blow sunshine into a situation to make yourself look good no matter what. If you lose, you were supposed to lose. If you win, it's because of your "great" coach and "great" team play. Give me a break. I'll bet of you go back five years, there are more players from Owensboro Catholic on college football rosters today than from Fort Campbell. Other than McClinton at UK, what other Fort Campbell players are in college, let alone at a D-1 school? Wallace and Love aren't playing football. How many from OC? Is Lanham still playing in college? Barnard? Wright? Randolph? Spare us all of the D-1 talk and all of the "Woe is us" talk and give us some legitimate reasons on who will win this game.

One person signed for a scholarship. The others are all too slow according to college football coaches. Funny Catholic beats these teams that just have all the D1 talent.

Wright is playing baseball at KWC, Randolph is going to school at UK nothing more, Barnard is redshirted at Marshall, and Lanham is at Western but not playing this year.

I will give you some legitimate reasons on who will win the game. Fort Campbell has much more talent, that is unarguable. Catholic has better coaches, again unarguable. To me that evens out and you have a close game and I just can't decide who wins. What do you think?

    After some quick research --

Owensboro Catholic players on college football rosters

Jesse Martin is a freshman DE at Louisville
Zach Barnard is a freshman QB at Marshall
Will Millay is a freshman lineman at Kentucky Wesleyan
Lee Martin is a freshman lineman at UK
Kevin McGraw is a freshman WR at UK
Craig Lanham is a sophomore RB at Western Ky

Fort Campbell players on college football rosters

David Miller is a freshman TE at Western Ky
Christian Johnson is a freshman OL at UK
Marcus McClinton is a sophomore DB at UK
Mark Hays is a freshman WR at Austin Peay
Mike Smith is a freshman DB at UT-Martin
Barry Booker is a junior DT at Va. Tech.

Gabe Wallace went to UK but didn't stick

Doesn't look like Fort Campbell is the college football player generating machine that some make them out to be -- especially when compared to Owensboro Catholic.

A view from the east side. Ft Campbell fails to get over the hump. Turnovers cost them a championship appearance.
