Like the big tuna said if I am making the meal I want to go to the grocery store and buy the ingredients. If I am the boss and it is on my watch I don't give a crap what other people want I am hire who I want.

Our previous administration took this approach to new hires and old fires.

It didn't work out real well for them. I'm only interested in the best coach getting picked, your never going to make everyone happy I get that.

If the big tuna and the superintendent are going to hire who they want no matter what 90% of the hiring committee recommends, then they need to stop the committee process.

Remove all transparency from the process.

Principal is a football guy. The rest, golf coach, girls soccer coach, assistant superintendent, real estate agent, banker, factory worker, radio guy. All good people though.

I would like to take this time to apologize to the qualified applicants that were superior for the job of head football coach at MCHS. I'm embarrassed to say the least. All I asked for was a fair interview process, that didn't happen. Rocky , Letcher, Thompson, his assistant your corrupt very corrupt. You have set Ryan up to fail miserably. He cannot win with the same staff that's in place. He is a good guy but has 0 experience. The hiring committee was a smoke screen. This hire will go down as the worst hire in the history of MCHS. Dr. Thompson has no idea the sleeping lion he awoke. Rocky you might want to get your retirement speech up to date and your blood pressure meds. Good ole boys going down. Rocky's Reverse Raffle coming soon

Several of those people on the committee have a football/sports background.

    Gold eagle,

Are you aware of what has happened the last couple years in the Montgomery co school system?

I've already said if the principles picks "his" guy, and his guy is the best applicant than thats great.

However, if we are just hiring our pals, cousins, buddies ect ect at the cost of the kids then thats wrong. Some of these folks still in our school system lived thru the previous administration and should want to be transparent at every step of the hiring process.

If that's to much to ask, then Montgomery co schools are no better today than they were 3 years ago under Josh Powell. Same ole same.

Montgomery like most schools has no vision and with those facilities could do some good things. Are they ever going to win a state title probably not but from what I heard and read they shunned the guy from Florida and guys like Nathan McPeek from the job because they just simply wanted to hire their friend that has been working in the school system. If he is truly the best then hire him but from what I've read on these boards he wasn't and that is sad. What happened to hire the BEST football coach for the job? Guess we don't live in that world anymore, seen where something like 6 middle school football coaches were hired as varsity head coaches what a flipping disgrace to the profession. Good luck though to the Indians

Nothing wrong with giving a guy that has worked his way through the system a opportunity to be head coach.

As long as Highlands, CovCath and Dixie staring right back at you; the ceiling there is awful short.

Twelve game season at best 9 years out of 10. (But, thats the majority of jobs out there, no matter the class).

Harry, that's really the truth about this job and many others across the state.

To be honest the participation at moco for football is at about a 3a level. I've never understood that with the fantastic facilities they have.

Before you could realistically expect any coach at moco to compete year in an year out at the 5a level the numbers have to go up.

I'm not privy to the list of coaches that applied, but im guessing it wasn't filled with superstars based on Harry's analysis of 5a football.

I can't list them all, but there's been a good coach or two at moco throughout the years and they couldn't get it done either.

Can someone give me a list from the last 15 to 20 years?

Ag department is the killer at Montgomery County. Look at all the diesels in the parking lot. They hold their show and sale on the same night as we play our biggest rivals.
