The kicking game were squib kicks all year. Ray Charles could read the offense, and the defense was (like most other Highlands guys) is what Mueller ran when he played there, but without the personnel. All very vanilla. His strong points are that he is a great young man that promotes loyalty to the team and school.
I don't think that experience is that important for the new coach(as coaches can be very bad for a long time). Personally would love to see Coach Mason next/this year.

So the second highest scoring offense is CC history was basic and readable? I would imagine a lot of their opponents would say otherwise.
Coach Mason is a great coach. Are they going to hire a coach without a teaching certificate is the question.

Only one thing comes to mind. He wants a chance to win a State Title

So are there any names being seriously considered yet? I know they are a 6A school but to the naked slightly untrained eye, it seemed the roster numbers didnt reflect that. How does a new coach A) get more boys out of the hallway and onto the grid iron? B) Take what he has/is realistically only ever going to get and turn them into something more than Lickert could?

To me it seems a number of jobs will be able to retain the coach for a serious amount time and never get past point B, when that coach is a loyal alum or for some reason just absolutely loves the school he has come to coach at. Kind of like Pat Fitzgerald at Northwestern.

    Good luck

I was told most of the Junior parents are Claryville Mafia and was mad Lickert couldn't win every game. The Claryville Mafia will be dissappointed this year the Camels will probably be a 500 team.

I’m not sure the Camel faithful would be excited about that...

Lickert was a great coach and will be missed. What I loved about him is he did not care who is your daddy, if you can play, he gave you a chance. Campbell needs to stay away from the insiders and maybe one day they can change the culture.

Dowds and Jolly were the two best players on the team this year IMO and Jolly will be back.

[QUOTE=TylerDurden;6478308]That's an interesting thought, at very least. I know Behymer has definitely had some differences with Weinrich at Highlands in the last couple of years

This I do not like to hear if true...

Makes it easier for him to look for an admin job within TRS, seeing as he's tenured educator and all.
I now understand it that Steve was offered the job - or at least was asked to apply - after he called up the folks on the hill to give a good reference to one of his assistants who was applying for the job. After some consideration following the call, he officially threw his hat into the ring.
