Perhaps you have flashbacks of Somerset Beating NCC last year in the all A classic on a last second buzzer beater

That must have been the win of the century for your school, that has been brought up multiple times in the FOOTBALL section, that basketball game has nothing to do with this game.

Congrats to NCC and good luck this weekend against a good Mayfield team. To any Jumper players reading this let me say thank you for a great season! Don't hang your heads to low, just pass on the long tradition of Somerset football to the Class of 2007.

Is Somerset's qb coming back next year? He was pretty good.

IMO He and many others are just trying to right an unfair advantage that many private school use, if they don't recruit, they should, if others do and get away with it. Call it what you wish but all the football champs could be priviate schools this year.

NCC is the only Catholic school in Campbell County that offers football. My nephew (who attends Brossart, the other Catholic School in Campbell County) did a report on prop 20 for a school project. His report showed that 96% of the student athletes at NCC & Brossart attended a Catholic grade school in the county. Another 1.5% attended a public school in the county. Can you tell me where the unfair advantage is? Btw he got an A-.

I don't think anyone from Paintsville asked Somerset to block that field goal or intercept that pass. The fact is if there wasn't a 16-4 (look it up) difference on penalties the game would have been over at halftime. The fact is Pugh was over rated and cost Paintsville the game with his turnovers and lack of running ability. If that game is played 10 times Somerset wins 9. The Jumpers weren't good enough to beat the Breds but they were the class of the mountains this year and Paintsville was fortunate to catch us on one of our bad days. Otherwise you would have looked like a poor imitation of Pikeville who couldn't come close (is 35-7 close?) to touching us.
    1. It was at Somerset, with out -of- region officals. So the difference in penalties was not some sort of home cooking or massive conspiracy.

    2. Paintsville out gained Somerset through the Air and was pretty even on the ground.

    3. Take a poll of coaches in our region and see how many would want Pugh on their team. I think Lynn Camp, Hazard, Pikeville, and Evarts do not agree with your claim.

    4. Was it one of your bad days or did Paintsville do a good job of slowing down your offense in the second half? (One offensive TD on a 1 yard run after the FG block, and one defensive TD on a tipped ball.) Give Paintsville a little credit they had Somerset on the ropes, but just couldn't deliver the knock out blow and Somerset did a good job of doing what it takes to win.
