St. Xavier had the ball on the Moeller 2 yard line on 4th down in OT and...went for the TD! Why on Earth they didn't just kick a FG is beyond me. As a result, the pass was batted down and Moeller kicked the game winning FG on their only possession in OT.

Because Coach Specht is just that confident in his offense? Or maybe, he wasn't that confident in his defense? I believe the Crusaders are up by 20 games in this series.

Bob Crable's son got the start for Mighty Moe tonight. It has to be hard to be the son of a legend while playing for the same school.

No idea why he did it. Clearly, it IS the question of the night in SW Ohio. Kick the FG and let your defense make something happen. It was a bonehead decision that has cost the Bombers their 2nd loss of the season.

Not Specht's finest moment certainly. If it's fourth and inches I can live with it a lot more. Fourth and two in overtime with the other team getting the ball next, is not the time for a gamble like this. X people like Specht a lot, but this one will have them crosseyed for a while.

Last year against Trinity they had a number of times they were in field goal range and he decided to go for it on 4th down instead. Had theh kicked one field goal they would have beaten the Rocks last year. Specht is a great coach but there are times his decision making isn't the best

It can go both ways........if they convert it was a great call.

Terrible decision in my opinion. St. X defense played great last night. Moeller only had one offensive TD. The decisions by the coaching staff in the last few minutes of the game were mind boggling. X had the ball up 3 with just under two minutes to go and couldn't get a first down because they tried to run up the middle 3 times. They then had to punt and give Moeller the opportunity to hit a FG for the tie. Credit Moeller for driving and getting the FG necessary for OT. St. X rush for less than 60 yards on the night. Why did Specht think he was going to be able to get a first down that late in the game doing the same thing that hadn't worked all night long???

Hats off to Moeller. They made decisions and plays when it mattered and X didn't. There is a reason they are state champs.

But they didn't and it's happened a couple of times in the last two years. It's almost as though he thinks he is smarter than everyone else. With 1600 boys in the school there has to be one that can kick!
