Mayfield speed demon Jordon Tyler now resides in the Graves County School District and is not with the Cardinals as they begin the new season. Tyler saw limited action last year as a RB, DB and return specialist. He was expected to see considerable time for the Cards on both sides of the ball this year. While not a back breaking loss for MF, it is certainly the first blow to the Cards depth at RB especially during the hotter portion of the season.
Tyler will be at Graves Co. Beyond that we will have to see but given his speed I would expect him to find immediate play time. His little brother who will be in 8th grade is also now at Graves and he was one of the most dominate middle school players I have ever seen
They did move to the Graves district just a short distance from the Mayfield line and it appears he is eligible as he is at practice with Graves. The reason for the move involves a problem involving a brother and I do not want to air a family's laundry here but will send each of you a pm and you can decide if it is suitable for disclosure here but I am not going to post it
I understand where you are coming from, Snake .... and I also understand that this site works off of "I have a source who told me this .... "
At the end of the day ... the potential damage to student athletes and schools based on these types of rumors can be more than a little harmful.
(Not to mention ... it sounds like a whole lotta sour grapes coming from you).
I know that Mayfield and Graves County take hate to a different level and all ... but do you really want to float this type of rumor around about the kid and his family?
What are you truly going to accomplish by passing third hand information in regard to the eligibility of this kid?
Not to mention ... even if you have a good source (which obviously isn't all that good) ... it takes about 3 minutes to look up the KHSAA rules in regard to transfers ... and see that this student athlete will most likely be cleared to play.
Would you please talk to your source again and share the part about having to be eligible to practice and see what you can come up with?
I'll put it to you all like this, a few weeks ago, I was told by someone who should have a pretty good idea that he would not play this season, that they had not done their paperwork correctly. I have no idea if it's true or not that he is practicing. That's all I know on this and I do know that Mayfield has moved on from this. Also, I did not start this thread, I am only putting in a few comments on what I was told. Quick, It's not like I am an investigative reporter .
Losing Jordan is a huge blow to the Cards, imo.. Mills is a good change of pace back, but, not an every down back and doesn't have the breakaway speed that Jordan has.. Hopefully, someone else will step up, but, this news hurts, no matter how you slice it.. I expected Jordan to be the starter or at least get the bulk of the carries this year and expected the Cards to use him alot in the slot and on short screens and get him in space, not to mention on special teams as a K/O and punt return specialist.. Oh, well !! life goes on and championship teams find others to step up and I expect the Cardinals will do just that....
