Seen them in the past well coached with a lot of athletes. A lot more than Williamsburg. You have to run the ball to beat Mayfield. Look what Hazard did to them in 2010. Sounds like Williamsburg is banged up too. Not good going into the finals. Mayfield has a lot more depth something Wlliamsburg doesn't. Nothing wrong being a runner up.

You are correct, there is no way to know for sure how this game will go and I want to point out that I said I was being brutally honest and not sugar coating it. All that means is that is my opinion and I just stated what I expect to happen. In 2011, even with out injuries I thought we would carry the day and we did not. So Williamsburg may prove my opinion wrong and that is what their mindset should be. This will be Mayfield's 5th straight trip and our kids are not going to be hanging anything on what some fans on a message board say or think if any of them do bother to even read our BS. I also doubt that any of the Williamsburg kids are reading it and if they are and they are not mature enough to take it for what it is, a bunch of fans talking smack for entertainment, then they have bigger worries in life than football right now.

In all seriousness though does the game start at 11 eastern or 11 central? I'm trying to figure out when I need to leave.

    11 central. About 100% positive.

To HT721,, these are not guarantees, these are opinions, of fans. Best team doesn't always win, but on paper, Cardinals are the favorite, period. Sometimes that football bounces funny, so, who knows?

Weather could be nasty for this one. App saying rain to freezing rain. Game time temp of 30. This could really mess up a game plan or 2.

I wanted to quote, correct myself, I meant to put.....

    Mayfield 37
    Williamsburg 22

Could very well be more imo, Williamsburg can throw but cannot run the football well enough to stay real close, jmo. They do play good defense but I think that the Jacket defense will have to be on field too long.

Same as always, he tried to say that no one but him picked Williamsburg to win their regional final. That was, until it was pointed out to him that no less than three just from Raceland had picked them to beat Hazard. Go back and read the Williamsburg / Raceland update thread. I don't think that Les posted at all on the prediction thread on Raceland/Williamsburg game. He came on the update thread, not until it was obvious that the game was decided and started the "I told you so's" act. Now that's confidence

Oh Les before you post accusing you of not quoting you personally on this. I told you then when you were fishing that nothing was biting, I wasn't going to argue with you. That still stands.

This tread, if it doesn't get shut down is going to be fun all week. You Mayfield guys are good, would had been a great "thread" competition if Raceland wouldn't had got waxed by Wburg. "Going at it" all week would have been fun, both sides have a ton of respect for the other and like to "Jab" all I good fun.

Seems like I touched a nerve, huh? And it looks as if you bit because you're still yapping about it, huh? I had confidence all along. I actually picked Williamsburg at the beginning of the season to get this far and continuously ranked them above Raceland and Hazard the entire season while about 99 percent of the voters didn't. So keep yapping all you want because it's obvious you can't let it go. I've said my peace, the proof is in the pudding. All season long I heard how much better Hazard and Raceland were than Williamsburg - Williamsburg blitzed Hazard and dominated Raceland without Skyler Griffith for almost the entire game.

Don't know who the kids you are referring to are. However, I don't think it's even a question that Williamsburg isn't quite the same team without the services of star wide receiver Skylar Griffith, but it was mentioned earlier in this thread that he's a go.

Les, I hate to disappoint you my friend buy you certainly did Not touch a nerve. I, like practically everyone else were just pointing out what you said and what actually was on the thread snd'or happened. Maybe you want to play that "All against me, Williamsburg" card. I don't know but you trying to claim that no one giving your Jackets any credit is just not true.
You are proud of your team as you certainly should be. I know that I along with others here are proud of our schools, teams. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that or having confidence. Just a note - just bc someone may predict, pick an opponent of W-burg to beat you doesn't at all mean that person is against the Jackets. That means they think the other team will win, that's all and there is nothing more to it than simply that. I thought that Raceland would beat Williamsburg, that did not mean that I wanted to insult Williamsburg, just was what I thought. And btw I was way wrong, your Jackets handed ours back to us and were no doubt the better football team and that is what I said after the game.
You seem to have the "I" syndrome..(I did this, I said that, I knew this, etc..). I have no idea what you are attempting to stir up but it's just not working.
So, I have no animosity toward your team, you or anyone Give that one up. I would leave you with just a couple of suggestions....1.) might want to see a good Chiropractor - you must have thrown you shoulder out by patting yourself on the back and no doubt have a big heavy chip on the other one. Oh one other thing....have you ever attended Fairview H.S. or one of their supporters ? ............. I'm done.

Going into game time, I think the temperature and conditions will be a HUGE part of this one. Along with the Highlands-Collins game, I see this one being the contest where those variables have the largest effect.

Least effect will probably be the DeSales-Newport Central Catholic game, as both of them seem to be teams that will just line up and try to blow the other side off the ball.
