Congrats to Mayfield!! I thought that Bardstown was better this year, but I did make the statement that you can never count Mayfield out when it comes to the playoffs!!

Mayfield controlled both lines of scrimmage and just plain dominated this game. unoffically i heard 350 yards rushing to 120. Bardstown had 3 big plays but could never really move the ball on Mayfield. Will have more later.

Mayfields OL was awesome tonight and Dumas and Hatchell were picking up big chunks of yardage all night long...B'town had no answer for Mayfields size...The Tigers are cat quick but youve gotta have a hole to run through..I thought Mayfields defense played extremely well...Bardstown's opening offensive play went for like 85 yds and they scored on there 2nd offensive play...After that, they were shut down in the 1st half as they only had 1 first down in the whole half...They got a big return to start the 2nd half down to the cards 24 yd line and tied it up, but, Mayfield came right back with a score on 7-10 yd runs back to back to back to back, it seemed...Bardstown tied it on a nice pass play over the middle from the Cardinal 34, but, then again, the cards OL took control and pushed em all over the field to retake the lead...the defense took over from there to put the final touches on the game...Great win by the Cards and congrats on a great season for the Tigers...

What a game. The difference in this game was the Defensive and offensive lines. Just total control of the line by Mayfield. Tristan Dumas had one heck of a game on both sides of the ball and couldn't be stopped. Bardstown had nobody that could stop Josh Hatchell from getting positive yards every time he touched the ball. When they keyed on Hatchell or Dumas then Blake Rust just took over. #44 for Bardstown is a great player and he did all he could to stop Hatchell but it just wasn't happening.

Congrats to the Tigers on a good year.

What a game. I can barely talk from all the screaming I did. Bardstown was as fast as advertised, but Mayfield played classic Mayfield smash-mouth football and controlled the line throughout. Thank goodness for that holding call that brought back the long td run late in the game. You could almost sense that big play coming from B-town after they stopped us on that 4th down play. Thanks again ref! I don't know if we should have gone for a field-goal there or not, but fortunately it all worked out in the end. I would like to apologize to the B-town fans for some of the craziness coming from the end-zone crowd, but there was alot of trash-talking coming from a few of your fans before the game and after your first score. Some of our fans were just jumping at the chance to get back at them, and they did quite loudly. Anyway, we are going to state again baby!!!!!!!!!

Btown's defense has been called soft by some and I think Mayfield pointed out why this tag was placed on them. As many have already stated, Mayfield just dominated both lines of scrimage and that resulted in those long, time draining, 4 yards a pop and a cloud of dust drives. With control of the line of scrimage Btown was forced to gamble when they had the ball resulting in several trick plays and more passing than Btown liked. Mayfield outgained Btown somthing like 350 - 120 in total yards. We were so successful running that we didnt have to attempt to pass though we are also a decent passing club. This Cards team is blessed with alot of weapons and a good core of hard running backs. It will take a heck of a 1A football team to beat the Cards

Mayfield's D played a supurb game tonight. I was impressed by the way they kept Bardstown from getting outside all night long. As the game progressed, Mayfield's O line wore the smaller Bardstown D line down. Mayfield moved the ball all night, while Bardstown had to rely on the big play. If Mayfield's D plays in Louisville the way they played tonight, they should take the title.
