    Male 51 St. Xavier 14

Dominating performance by Male. St.X had no answer for them. Beat in all phases.

    I’m shocked at the gap.

    Who saw this coming?
Is Male that good/ X that bad?

One of biggest beat downs I’ve seen of St.X team. I knew Male would have good offense but it’s a great offense.

The major deficiencies of X are defensive back and lack of a tough offensive line/running game. These weaknesses showed in this game.

Male's dominance in all phases was pretty impressive. Final stats will clearly tell the tale. The Rocks next week could be a major battle that many thought would just be another step toward Trinity's coronation. Coach Wolfe will celebrate for about 2 hours and then resume his prep. This guy is always prepared.

A Male win was not going to shock me. A Male win in THIS manner does, dramatically.

Some mistakes early got Male going... long TD drive first, then an INT that led to a TD the following play, and then a sack fumble that turned into a scoop and score. Just like that 21-0. St. X fought back to make it 28-14, but when Male got the first down on the fake punt it seemed like all the momentum went to Male and then stayed over there.

I don’t know if Male is really this much better than St. X, but the area that’s most concerning is the LOS. Male controlled it and there was absolutely nothing St. X could do about it.

We’ll see how St. X responds to this and what changes will be made to continue to get better each week.

I don’t think many saw this coming. I’d say that several are looking forward to the showdown between Male and Trinity!

Trinity is at home against Waubonsie (IL) next week, then @ Male 9-20.

Male and Trinity should be moved from Male. That place will be a madhouse.

    Same.

Not surprised by the Male victory, but never imagined a margin like this.

Male off next week, giving Coach Wolfe another week of prep.

St. X should rebound vs Central next week.
Male will obliterate Southern as a tune up before Trinity.
