Week Eight

Top Ten

In 6A last week’s game of the week featuring two top ten teams provided probably the biggest surprise with Madison Central easily beating Tates Creek 50 to 16. The victory by the Indians was not surprising but the margin. Was it the fall break? The Thursday night time slot? Or maybe the Indians are gearing up for a strong district run. The biggest game for 6A district 8 comes this week with #3 Madison Central and #2 Lafayette going at it.

#1 Scott County easily handled the sagging Blue Devils of Henry Clay. The Cardinals take on Bryan Station this week.
We have to wait another week for the top 2A teams to settle who is King of the Bluegrass for that class. Lexington Christian remains undefeated beating Middlesboro and Danville continues its winning ways with a win over Somerset. This week the Eagles take on Somerset and Danville gets Middlesboro.

Madison Southern looks to repeat as district champs with a win over Montgomery County. The Eagles get Woodford County this week. Woodford lost to Anderson County 10-7 this week.

3A District 4 on paper looked to be highly competitive amongst the 4 teams. But the Boyle County Rebels and Lexington Catholic Knights would have none of that and easly took care of Garrard County and Western Hills, respectfully.

1A Nicholas County moved into the top 10. Its always hard to gauge the undefeated small schools in this power ranking. But at 8-0 the Bluejackets are on a run.

The Next Ten

Casey County was off last week. The Rebels only have 6 games at this point in the season due to a game being cancelled due to weather early in the season that will not be made up. At 6-0 I have looked to move Casey County into the top 10. Like Nicholas County, its difficult to gauge without some good comparison games. But the Rebels hare having a great season.

East Jessamine got a close win over Taylor County that gives them the inside track to winning their district. The Jaguars will need take care of business against struggling Marion County and struggling local rival West Jessamine.
