But you are wrong also. You say your certain NCC did not call off the dogs and you could not be more wrong. It was 37 to 0 when our JV went in with 3 minutes to go in the 2nd quarter. They never went back in.

I think he is saying ncc didnt call off the dogs vs beechwood but Lca did, but i still proved his point wrong with my previous post.

BLUTO, watch out what you ask for in your deductive reasoning. In the playoffs, all bets are off. Example to think about: Highlands beat South Oldham by 1 and two weeks later a very good Franklin Cty team beat them by like 30. So as your reasoning comes to these examples, one would think Franklin wins big vs. Highlands. News flash, its the playoffs and no tommorow for the loser. Highlands wins big.
I know LCA is a very good program, but the fact that NCC or Beechwood has been in the finals I think 13 of the last 14 years has some merit. Good luck Breds.

I hear you, and acknowlege that this is an inexact science!

Let's face it, nothing that we say here on BGP REALLY matters; only what the young men do on the field. This is fun and games for us, and we probably do it for different motivations: to encourage any coaches or players from our team that may be on BGP, to "trash talk" in a (hopefully) good-natured way, and to engage in thought-provoking debate.

As far as the latter is concerned (and my use of deductive reasoning), I'm trying to gather and use what info and criteria my tiny mind can gather, in order to make an educated prediction. Comparing scores is, admittedly, imperfect. But so far, it's all I have.

I've heard the term "matchups" used in a general way, but no specifics used. I'd actually like to hear them.

LCA's varsity was 30 points better than Beechwood. Is NCC better even than that? I'd like to hear why you think so.
Chances are that Diehl will not throw four INT's one of which went to the house. I also believe that NewCath will turn the ball over 5 times total. That's five possessions in what appears would have been a shootout. Not making excuses. NewCath lost to Beechwood in what I consider to be a fluke. I do not feel that any team would beat Beechwood two times by 31 pts, which means that that game was an aberration. NewCath has more speed than Beechwood. They spread the ball better than Beechwood, and they have a better QB. I don't know much about LCA. They may beat Beechwood 5 out of 5, I don't know. But they wouldn't win by 31 more than once. I think that's why people believe that it's going to be a closer game. Also, NewCath beat a team by 38 that Beechwood lost to earlier in the year. Let's compare that score.

Of this I am certain: neither NCC nor Beechwood "called off the dogs" in their game. LCA, on the other hand, DID call them off with over 6 minutes left.
Are you sure that you are certain??? NewCath had their starters out midway through the second quarter. It was 28-0 before I reached my seat at the end of the first quarter. They could have won 100 to 0 if they hadn't called off the dogs.

I meant the NCC/Beechwood game. I was sure that if the issue was in doubt (1 point) the JV would not be in. My mistake; wrong use of pronouns!!

So your point shows LCA called off the dogs on Fairview almost a full half after NCC did. Good point...

Wow, did I miscommunicate! The games I meant were:
NCC vs. Beechwood (varsity the entire game - decided by 1 point)
LCA vs. Beechwood (LCA "called off the dogs" with 6+ min. left, and the score 43-13. The JVs for both teams entered at that point)

    Sorry for the confusion....

I am going to take LCA in this one. I think their team speed is going to be the deciding factor and they are going to continue their season. I said it earlier this year their destination is a state championship.

Great job and keep it up LCA!!!!!!!!!!
