There are plenty of programs out there who have young men of high character who lack in the wins department. The same can be said for hard work, too. There are plenty of teams who work extremely hard, that suck something awful.

Regardless of the background reasons, the program has moved on. Now it is up to Coach Gamsky to show his leadership and football knowledge to the administration, coaches, players and the parents/alumni. For at least the near future IMO he will be judged by wins and losses and how he conducts himself. Wish you the best of luck Coach!!

Those things don't matter to the parents. They were 1 play from a state championship 2 years ago. Billy did both of those things. If he doesn't get it done this year, the parents already know they can run a coach off with their check book. This is a no win for a really young coach.

To me that is a sad statement on the state of sports in this country where the parents income influences playing time for their kids and getting wins supersedes the idea of developing young men and women of character. School administrators should support their teachers and coaches and not allow finances and transfers to influence what is the last pure amateur athletics. Communities should support their local team win or lose.
