Yes. I assume that additional tickets will be available for walk-up. But only 2000 were allotted per school for pre-sale. The comments that the callers made were in reference to the fact that with Trinity & X playing, 4000 total tickets wouldn't even touch the demand. Jody mentioned the last two times these two schools met, we brought ~25,000 to those games. He acknowledged that the attendance wouldn't match the regular season game, due to the outside factors that revolve around the September game (known date, family vacations, reunions, etc).

Let me see if I can explain this. Each school gets 2,000 tickets for pre-sale. 20,000 to 25,000 expected to attend. So 16,000 to 21,000 people are expected to purchase tickets at the gate a few hours before the game. Doesn't seem to make sense does it? It does if you factor in that pre-sale tickets are $7 and tickets at the gate are $10.

    Khsaa,

Whose great idea was it to only give X and T 2000 tickets?

I am sure you will make up for it by having 2 people selling tickets at Papa Johns and one entrance open for admission.

How about spending a few more bucks on 6 dollar an hour ticket sellers and gate workers???

Trinity said they indeed only had 2000 but after they sold out they had to send someone to go get more from Lexington.

I would assume the same for X.

But you would think the KHSAA would be smart enough to send more than 2,000 in the first place.

One would also think T and X would be smart enough to ask for more than 2000 in the first place...

Last night it was discussed that the schools could call for more tickets after they'd sold their original allottments.

Never fear, it's obviouls that T and x are on top of things!

They did. The 2,000 number was established by KHSAA. Trinity ran out and requested and received another batch.

They said at first that there would only be 2,000. After that KHSAA said they must be bought at PJCS. The ADs pleaded their case and received another 1,000 that were almost gone at 8:30 this morning. I'm also angry in advance for the fact that the ticket situation will be a mess Friday night. Two years agothere were people still in line at the end of the first quarter.

If I remember correctly, last year not all of the gates were open and some were only half staffed. You would think with all of the money the Rocks & Tigers are going to bring to the KHSAA on Friday that they could afford to open and staff all of the gates.

For all of you public school fans out there; Don't forget, thatís a great deal of money that your State Athletic Association may not see in a year or two.

In a discussion at St. X. this morning, I found out that despite the size of the crowd expected for the X/t game, KHSAA was initially alloting only 2,000 pre-game tickets to each school participating to not show bias to anyone. Once these were sold additional ones could be obtained by request from KHSAA. Further relief from long lines at the game was granted, when a request was approved to open the windows at 6:00 instead of 6:30 P.M. tomorrow night. At least that will provide an an additional 30 minutes to get the tickets before kickoff.

    GO TIGERS!!

Gee, if another 16000 had to pay an additional $3.00 per ticket, guess who picked up another $48,000.00?

It's not about the money. It about showing respect.
