Russell was driving with a chance to take the lead with the score 9 -7 down close to the 20 and fumbled. I think there was less than 3:00 in the 4th at the time. Ironton scored 2 plays later to make it 16-7.

This was a tough one. Just too many mistakes (some self inflicted, some not) - a bad snap over the head of the QB that was recovered for a safety, a short missed field goal that would have extended a lead, a missed blocking assignment on a punt that got blocked, and a drive killing fumble in the final minutes. Those are the ones that really stood out.

Russell battled all night, though. If nothing else, you gotta love the effort from these kids.

No wing-t, but they are going under center more. Some single back, double wing, and full house backfield formations.

Russell ran some wing t towards the end of the Greenup game though. Actually tj said he had McGlone at practice this summer to help with the wing t which they may run some more this year.

I think Russell has improved from week to week, but they need to cut down on their mistakes. They pretty much beat themselves last night with their mistakes. They will have their hands full this week against Ashland on the road.

The Fighting Tigers didn't help themselves out by committing 13 Penalties that's for sure. They have to cut out those costly mistakes, especially with Fairland and Ashland coming up.

I said that I expected Ironton to win.
The final amount does shock me some, but as I posted come Friday night it's hard to predict how bunch of teenage guys will preform on any Friday.
