I talked to a school board member about possibly asking the owner of the canon to place in on display upon a large rock, I mean large rock next to the new scoreboard. Fill the barrel with concrete so as never to fire again and put it on display as a monument to the Highlands Football tradition.

He liked the idea and said lets think about that one. With all of the improvements taken place at the field I think that this Highlands Football symbol should be implemented into the master plan.

Make it part of the program like many colleges do with symbols, pay homage to it with a touch and move on.

I can assure anyone with concerns of offending anyone or not being PC that this would not be the case. I can personally guarantee that...

I may have just answered our own questions as to how to get this done...Stay tuned.

They don't want a picture of it at games, don't think they are going to want it sitting at the games. It might upset 1 out of 10,000 persons. Not a snowballs chance it ever gets filled with cement.
