Not a chance! This team is LOADED with talent all over the field... they will battle CCH and bowling green for top team in 5A.

My advice to those who support BW - get vocal and get in front of the administration. I guarantee you those who want him gone are doing that. My experience is the squeaky wheel gets the oil. The last two years have not been good by Highlands standards and regardless of what BW did in the 15 or whatever years before that are forgotten. Vocal, complaining parents can get the administration at these schools to make moves and it only takes a few parents to make it happen. I am not involved at Highlands and have no opinion one way or the other. I am just saying speak up if you have an opinion because school administrations usually go with the complainers if there is any legitimacy at all to their complaints.

I wouldn't call them liars, just youth letting their emotions get the best of them.

    That's a bit idealistic.

I'm sorry but that would never happen. I can't imagine kids missing out on a once in a lifetime experience in playing high school just because of a coach change. That would be a display of immaturity, things happen in life, you move on. Silliest thing I've ever heard.

And yet every year there are high school kids who quit one sport or another because they don't like the coach. I agree with you. So stupid that it happens IMO. I don't think any high school kid should quit a team because of the coach. As you said, it is a once in a lifetime experience.

Yes and what life lesson does that provide? Run away from adversity? If you don't like your superior or authority in a team setting you give up and quit. No. You push through and find a way.... that is what high school sports is supposed to teach!

Coaching changes occur when a program's culture changes from the way kids look getting off the bus to being prepared to play games. You don't always have to have the most talent to win.

Here’s my two cents... I like BW and I think he’s a really good coach. That doesn’t mean he’s a really good head coach. I don’t know that I’ve seen enough of his head coaching to form an educated opinion. IMO the last two classes he had to coach were lean, lean on Sr talent. The SR class next year is really good. The JR class next year is absolutely loaded and so is the Soph class next year.

With that being said, my main issue is whoever was responsible for choosing the QB last year should probably be fired IMO. It shouldn’t take until the playoffs to make that switch. Thank goodness he’s only a JR and coming back and they have a stud QB that will be a soph in Cam Hergott so that should help any QB issues. If this team can have a couple of kids grow on the line they can be REALLY good next year no matter who the head coach is.
