If your an underclass man I get it! The point about Dad finds out I am sure that happens as well! In your own peer group as a frosh not so sure two platoon is a best practice. Kids should have a taste of both sides of the ball. Keeping them fresh in varsity makes sense, baby birds not so much. Obviously one man's opinion. Better minds in those positions I am just making an opinion. I would like to see a few slotted on the one side of the ball wreck havoc on the other at least play a few series as a position switch might be in the cards the following year.

Necessity is the mother of invention, where you play on the field, and if you go both ways. I expect necessity to show up at the frosh practice right after the first game.

No news is good news I take it. Mini-scrimmage this week against the Shamrocks and then it is game on the following week. Sure the boys and coaches are excited and ready to get things going for real.

Any thoughts about the frosh after scrimmage after the varsity scrimmage tonight. Since they were playing against T's jv b-team, I thought they did pretty well. A father from T said they did not bring their frosh team due to 90 on the frosh squad. Wow.
Any news on Jack J. He seemed injured rather than just hurt.

I stuck around last night for a while to check out some former players of mine. Uhhhh!!!! Bo Hebel couldn't be blocked. Even by Trinity's JV! No wonder they wouldn't let Bo play his 8th grade year with me and elected to play him up on Frosh in 2011. Bo is a freak!! I thought Jared Doughtery did a nice job on both sides of the ball and also an outstanding display by Conner Kreiger(SP) at QB. Also watch Brandon Bradford continue to play at a high level. Unfortunately for Brandon which I hope I'm wrong but it looks like he has maybe finally peeked with size. Overall not a bad outing!

How did Austin Hergott look? I saw him warming up and he has some nice size for a Frosh QB. He also looks to have good form when throwing the ball.

Bo plays D-end and right tackle. At the freshman level he is special .... and will only get better.

Yes, Conner Kreeger played QB for the green team last year, quick kid, hard worker off the field. Baby Birds play @ Trinity next Saturday.

I thought Krieger also looked better at the qb position. Hergott has the size and arm strength but the accuracy just isn't there yet.
The defense looks to be further along than the offense right now. The offensive line definately has some work to do.
- Aug 11, 12, 05:26 PM #156I thought defense looked great, especially the first series. Kreager did look good running the ball. It looked like the O- line needs work. So we agree on assessment. I reported one Bo Hebel would play defense and he wasn't blocked all night. Who was 46 was that jack jäger?

Tough, tough, tough game to open the season with and on the road no less. Pretty sure they will not see 90 players trotting out onto the field in any other game this year. Now that Holy Cross no longer has a frosh team, it will be almost 3 weeks before the Baby Birds play another game unless Coach Behymer has found someone to take the place of them on the schedule. Here is to a hard fought game and hopefully everyone stays injury free.

Just got word that the replacement game for Holy Cross is Lexington Catholic and that the game will be played this Thursday evening at Highlands. Two very tough opponents to open the season with, but that is what makes you a better football player and team.
