With a group of younger players, hope that's who that was, having fun retrieving the kicking tee off the field late in the game and then doing some sideline shenanigans, and then an assistant coach catching a wayward thrown ball to the sideline out of bounds, hey all is good in the Fort! Far from it. Highlands played and beat a not so good Dixie team. Not taking anything away from the win, well actually I am, but let's be real. Sorry to offend anyone, but there is so much work to do before next Sat, it's not funny. I'm hoping coaches can continue to tinker a bit this week in practice to give the Birds the I very best chance to win the rest of their games on out. Again, great first step but omg move on from this and get ready for CCH.

You are 100% right but just give it tonight. Tomorrow they'll hit the weights and conditioning, watch a couple hours of Cov Cath and put it into motion. BEAT COV CATH!

You know what is weird is the Cov Cath peeps that are on this site are some of favorites. They stick to strategy talk dont say a bad thing about anyone else. I guess that is class right, maybe its the catholic schooling? I think this is still the best rivalry in NKY. the two teams don't have the best records but next week should be a good one. a lot on the line too.

I wasn't at the game but heard the Birds had 4th and 2 from midfield with a few seconds left in the half and elected to punt. True?

If so, why punt? Why not take a shot at the end zone with your D-1 QB?

    Just curious

Squat? That's a sophisticated analysis of the on-field changes the Birds should make before next Saturday. OMG. Know what I'm saying'

Since CCH was in the house. I will it keep it simple. On the wide side of the field DE or walked up OLB keep your outside shoulder from getting covered up. You can't get hooked. I would never have deviate from jet, or qb keeper. I know the coaching staff saw it multiple times. For my sake please give 54 some help! I love the motor but not playing Hebel on a few series on defense at the point of attack is not smart. Those two boys are like having 4 in the box !!

I should add that in the second half our tandem of backs ran hard got to the second level. Best game by far for that position group. Shout out to Bradley Greene and the return game. It was nice to see!!

Tyler Robinson was a beast last night. Multiple run stuffs and the sack late in the game was a thing of beauty. Kid seemed to be on a mission. Also really liked Beal at corner and hope he is ok. Plays the receivers tight, trusts his wheels and does a nice job of run support. He will hit you. Also glad to see New and Cain back. They both looked almost back to 100%. The break seemed to help them heal some. Line play seemed a lot better and is starting to open holes and the way the backs ran last night, they only needed a small one.

I must give a shout out to the QB for Dixie (wish I could remember his name). Kid can fly. Once he broke the line there was no catching him. Fastest player on the field last night.

Play calling seemed a little predictable but it was working in the second half so no sense in changing. Deep balls were a little off but I think another week of healing for Cain and New will open the intermediate routes to take some pressure off the deep ones. No secret but the book on the Birds passing game is either swing passes or hail Mary's. Two new targets with good hands will add another weapon. Just in time for you know who coming up.
Overall the Birds played well. Took advantage of the defenses turnovers and won the field position battle. Also liked the long field goal attempts. Kicks were off just a little but JD will make more than he will miss overall.

18-7 after 3 and then HHS exploded.

Dixie ran for 242 yards. Birds had 255 rushing.

Love this pic!!! Two of my favorite players. After all those holds for JD, JD left no doubt Cain was getting in! Nice way to payback.

Not sure what youre saying. I meant no need to "poop on" (squat over) the win within hours of it. Sure today they need to move on but enjoying a win is a sip of water in the desert for a bird fan this year.
