Danville is coming over to Fredrick Douglass tomorrow evening for a controlled practice. I think that is what they call it.

If I am not mistaken the Frederick Douglass district is composed of what used to be Bryan Station and Henry Clay kids. Add in other kids from different school districts that have transferred in and there you have it.

Frederick Douglass is a state of the art school. Everything brand new. I imagine that there are plenty of parents in the Lexington area that want to send their kids to school there. I canít say I blame them at all.

Danville and Boyle County just got done with camp on Friday, so I'm sure the scrimmage is on Monday.

Yes they moved it to this morning from Friday evening due to Danville being at camp. Douglass looked real good especially on offense the transfer running back from Lafayette ran it well. Danville is a lot less experienced of course from last years team. But they looked very athletic I think they will be very competitive again. I look for them to be very good by the end of the season.

When you also factor in the Carter G. Woodson Academy students all play for Douglass now instead of playing for their home attendance area schools as they did in the past before the Academy moved to that building when it opened & it helps them in that area. The school was probably a 4A sized attendance school its 1st year & had more players than a couple of the other 6A sized schools in the city.

I heard FD has some great athletes and looked really good against Danville, even if it was a practice. They should be in for a solid season.
