This may be ugly but these teams are knocking the snot out of each other.
If you are directing that towards me I did say fake/broken play.

We don’t have a punter. The place kick is the same as a punt. Kinda. It’s high school football, sometimes you have to improvise.

I assume Georgia and Kentucky has the same rule.

In Georgia the kick is down where it lands and does not come back to the spot of the kick.

Correct, I stated that (FS is improvising) in another post.

It is what it is but it is really bad for FS.

Additionally, if it is a long FG kick and you catch it in the endzone you cannot return it as it would be a Touchback

A FG attempt is a scrimmage kick and is treated like a punt. A missed FG attempt is put in play at the spot it is declared dead. You are thinking of the college & pro rule.

Yes a field goal attempt is treated just like a punt in high school rules. There was a thread on here sometime back about a coach somewhere whose teams never punted but kicked field goals instead.

But I have never seen FS do this before today. Tre Bass has been our punter this year.

Could it be a long snapping issue? Able to snap the shorter FG snap but not the longer Punt snap?

I apologize if this has been covered, but have they done this all year or did punter get injured at some point.

We had two seven yard punts last week.

I really don’t know. The punt snapping has actually been more consistent than the PAT snapping. It’s mystifying to me.

I am sure the Coach has a valid reason but it has hurt FS in this game.

    Thanks mac.

And as a former, horrible punter I totally get that.
