Four Newport Players Sign at Same School

Four Newport High School senior football players officially committed on Wednesday to continue their athletic careers at the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, KY. Ben Senger, Paul Price, Dominic Joseph, and Gage Jones signed letters of intent to play football for the Patriots next fall.

Congrats to all 4! Really excited for Coach Schmitz and his program, but especially Dom Joseph and Paul Price. Have spent the past few years watching up close how hard they've worked to get to this point and couldn't be happier to see those two further their education as well as their athletic careers.

Great athletes but even better kids off the court and field.

Congrats to all these players! They'll be playing in a very competitive conference and I hope they can help UC get back to the National Championship!

    Great to hear.

Didn't Newport have some other athletic successes this year too?

Basketball had an above average year and took CovCath to the wire in the 9th region tourney, but other than that, no.

No word on Johnson. Not sure if he even has any offers anywhere to go.

Unless he has dropped out between this morning and now, he is still in school.
