To make the semifinals 10 out of 13 years and reach 8 championship games in an era when only the district champion advanced to the playoffs is an accomplishment that, as far as I'm concerned, rivals anything I've seen in the modern era.
Yeah but I think they were playing with 21 year old coal miners.

Highlands has one streak of 6 years without winning a title 83-88 and one streak of 4 years 71-74. The rest have all been 3 years or less.

With all of the deep family ties at the school, it must be annoying to go to a family function and be one of the few players in the history of the school to be ringless. I know we would make a point to rub it in our cousins'/uncles' face.

Marty Moore may have a Superbowl ring, but he doesn't have a state title ring. I am sure he has been told that a few times.

Hazards best stretch so far to my knowledge
    2007-2012
    79-16
    2 State Runner Ups
    1 State Title
    3 State Semis

But the past 3 years look like this with exits in the 3 round of the playoffs.
    31-8.

Ft Campbell had another good run from 1976 - 1980. 3 State Championships -2 in Single A, 1976,1978 and moved up and won 1979 in AA and were runner up in 1980. 78-79 split with Mayfield and Brentwood Academy. Marshall Patterson who was inducted this year into Hall of Fame did an exceptional job especially when you consider that from year to year he never knew who would be around with the players parents getting transferred out each year. I think we actually got more satisfaction beating Mayfield than we did winning State in 79

    Fort Campbell Falcons '76-'80
    53-11 (83%)
    3 State Championships
    4 championship game appearances

The Falcons had two more really good years in '81 & '82, going a combined 20-3. They were beaten by Mayfield in the playoffs both seasons.

Fort Campbell is an interesting case. They've had some good seasons scattered out here and there, but the bulk of their history seems to be tied up in two strong runs in '76-'80 and '07-'09. They have their ups and downs, but when they're good, they're really good.

Everyone has predictions. Some are right, some are wrong. I predict BG Purples will win 56 out of their next 60 and a few more rings. Next 4 years looks really nice.

Could add to this if you wanted 1998-2006 played in 7 semis, 6 title games, won 3 titles. Decent stint in 9 seasons

This is hard to fathom. Playing in the State Championship game over half the time in the past 40 years. WOW!

Shouldn't these two be the same? Region titles have always guaranteed teams a spot in the Final Four.

(By the way, this is the most impressive stat of any from Mayfield in my opinion!)
