Did a ship sink in Union tonight?
I think it might be time for changes at Ryle like a more balanced offense but what do I know?

I don't think the Raider ship sank tonight, it sank while dry docked at Cooper in week one.
Ryle needs to play for next year.

May be tough for the to score on SK in 2013. I believe we lose two starters on defense but both are excellent (Bowling and Swanson).
Ryle's offense is three yards and a cloud of pellets. Get up on them early and you have an excellent chance at a win. I just don't understand why they don't/won't diversify their offense.

Football in NKY ebbs and flows based on talent. This years Ryle is lacking talent, same as SK last year and BC has for a few. No one doubted coach Warner when Travis and Conner were running the offense. Unless you recruit (and I don't want to start that all over again), you win and lose based on the talent you have developed or were born with.

Call the guy in Independence and ask him. It appears as though that may have been the plan last year and it seems to have worked this year. Playing younger kids? emphasizing depth? skill development?

It takes a very secure coach to sacrifice a year's performance on the field to develop players, or specifically a QB. I could not see BW, CC or Highlands doing it, but then again when the well runs dry in those places ......

I just am not sure how you play for next year in high school. Kids change so much each year. Are you saying play a kid who is not as good as a senior just to get him experience? Is that fair to a senior who is the better player and has worked for 4 years to get his playing time? If a young player and a senior are about equal and the team is not winning, then you play the younger guy to try and get wins now anyway, right? So you aren't really playing for next year in that situation because you are still trying to win games now. I would like to hear specifically how you play for next year in high school?

When the coach in Independance did it he was reamed by the so called superfan on a weekly basis.
Follow that up with a nothing schedule the next year and you look like a genius. At least until it's time to play a big boy schedule.

exactly. However, if you're also the AD, no chance you are going to fire yourself and it's easier to justify the 'down' year when you back it up with 6-0 the next season.
