Western has thrown all over most teams they have played. Not much DeSales could do when they couldn't keep up with the 5 or 6 4.5 40-yard dash guys.

His 2 older brothers play for the Louisville Bulls semipro team, and the middle one Kevin played OT/DT at Virginia (was a member of the team that beat FSU 10 years ago and was honored at this years game when they beat FSU again). I've met Kenny and he's in the 6-2 or 6-3 range and about 260-275. I don't know who's recruiting him, I'll ask one of his brothers

    2 other common opponents:

Desales beat Garrard Co 40 - 0 last week
Corbin beat Garrard 53 - 27 2 weeks ago, game was not as close as the score.

    Desales beat Washington Co. 43 - 6
Corbin beat WC 38 - 22, game was 38 - 6 when Corbin pulled the starters.

No question, both teams will score. It will be a close game, could be similar to the Desales V. Western score of 50 - 46. If Desales has a problem with speed look for a big game from Blackwood. The thing with Corbin, we now have a running game and teams can't concentrate on the pass as they did earlier in the season. Corbin's pass D isn't as bad as in the past few years and will be good enough to defend Desales few passes a game.

This is a LOOONG bus ride from the south end of Louisville to Corbin KY... I give the edge to the hometeam. IF Corbin can stop Zinser, they can stop DeSales. Reed is a good qb, and the line is big, hog mollies up front, but Zinser makes the offense go. DeSales has a stud tight end, rumor has it he's going to Virginia, and a SHORT little tailback who can sneak around his big lineman.

Why worry about something that we will never know the answer to? Both are good teams and we should support all of our tri-county teams!

I really hope that Corbin and O catholic win out. I would love to see a rematch of last years semi- state finals. The Corbin folks travel well and would make for a great atmosphere at Rash Stadium.

Here's hoping that both teams make it all the way to the magic carpet, but I suspect that Corbin's ride may very well end first. Good luck to both teams this week.
South Laurel would have something to say about that.

It really doesn't make any sense to debate who the best team in the area is when they don't play. Also, since many are in different classes, it really doesn't matter. It is in the nature of a fan to believe their team is best, especially if there is no way to prove otherwise. Often it doesn't matter even if the teams play. I'm a huge Lynn Camp fan. Last year Williamsburg beat us twice, but after the playoff game I went home still believing we were better than them. If a team can beat you twice and not convince you they are better, we could debate for years to no avail if the teams don't play.

As for the game, which this thread is supposed to be about, I think Corbin will win at home.

I would love for the HOunds to have the opportunity to travel to Owensboro to play the Aces again. It may be asking a little much to expect this young Corbin team to get that far in the playoffs, especially with a very good DeSales team standing in the way this week and another good team next week if the Hounds upset the Colts, but stranger things have happened.

It sure does not seem as though a year has passed since that Nov. night when everything came together(2 good teams, 2 great sets of fans, good officiating and good weather) for a memorable game of high school football.
    Good luck against Trigg Co.
