That schedule is without a doubt one of the toughest in 2A, don't be fooled by HC's record as they played almost all of these games close. Also if we look at like opponents we have- HC over Newport 13-6
    Desales over Newport 24-12
    HC over Carrol County 56-3
    Desales over Carrol County 30-15
If you are going to use the excuse of Carrol County not being able to pass due to the conditions then you could say Newport could fall under that too. The passing game is the only thing Newport had on HC as they held them to well under 100 yards rushing for the game. Also HC didn't allow Carrol County to run the ball at all today.
I understand if you take Desales as that's your opinion, but for you to say Desales will blow HC out "given the facts" is just an untrue statement.
It is not an excuse for Carroll losing the game. The point was that Carroll passed the ball successfully against Desales and the passing game was limited against Holy Cross due the the weather conditions, as it would be for any team that passes.

And as I said Newport couldn't run against HC and could only pass against them a couple times. I was just using the same reference you did.

Is Newport a running team or passing team?

If I had to choose one I would say they were a running team, but they couldn't move the ball running it against HC and therefore went to the passing game where they found a couple weak spots, but they still didn't have over 100 yards in passing if I remember correctly, but correct me if I'm wrong.

I think had weather permitted, Carroll would have been able to find some success through the air. I do not mean that the outcome would have changed by the passing game but could have helped move the ball. That is what I was meaning by saying the weather effected Carroll's ability to throw.

Congrats to the Panthers on a good season. Coach Weedman has the programs turned around and back on course.

Congrats to the CC Panthers on a great Season and being part of turning the CC Program around.

We had a lot of injuries this year but kept playing hard and made Carroll County proud.

Good Luck to HC, DeSales is a great team and I would not compare the CC Team that you played against the one that played Desales. DeSales is going to be a tough game.

Good Luck to many of the CC boys as they go into Basketball season.
