Redhounds hold off GRC on a 4th and Goal from the 1 ft line with 1:27 left in the game to seal the deal.
Great win for Corbin. Cardinal's off next week, then Montgomery County on Aug 31.

Congrats to the Redhounds on the win. Heartbreaker for the Cards. Classic ball games between these two teams.

Does GRC not have a reliable kicker? I figured they must not since they didn't go for the FG late in the game down 1.

Great goal line stand by Corbin in the final minutes.

Corbin comes to Tates Creek on Aug. 31st. 13 points won't be enough in that one.

I was thinking the same thing, that's a chip shot. Definite head-scratcher if you ask me.

Kicker this year is a Sophomore.

Agree, outstanding. They rose to the challenge with the game on the line and brought home the win.

Corbin clips Cards in opener
CORBIN – A goal-line stand left George Rogers Clark empty-handed in its season opener Friday night at Campbell Stadium.
Host Corbin stopped the Cardinals on the 1-yard line with 1:29 remaining and held on for a 13-12 triumph over the Cardinals. The decisive stand came after Clark’s Robert Cornelius recovered a Redhound fumble at the 6-yard line with 3:17 remaining.
However, the Cardinals failed to capitalize on four opportunities on their final drive that started at the hosts’ 5-yard line, ending a night of frustration that included 18 penalties for 155 yards.
After Clark quarterback Darian Skinner was stopped short of the end zone on the 1-yard line, Corbin ran out the clock to complete the successful comeback.

GRC does has a Sophomore they are using for kickoff's that really seems to do well. But I do not think they have a dedicated FG kicker. This position has been historically weak for GRC over the years. Although they did have some success last year.

Mixed feelings on those new GRC helmets. Their old cardinal had gotten a little stale, but that helmets seems a little busy. I'm willing to think further about, though!

At first I really didn't like the helmets, but they are growing on me. I think its the thick red strip in the middle. Still not sure what it is.
