I believe tigershark's remark is directed towards the stupidity of the Henry Clay staff in not exercising any discipline in the control of their team, which only served to heighten the intensity of the pebble power. At that point last Friday, the landfill became a graveyard for the Blue Devils, as the incited wee-weeds proceeded to kick tail (so YES, trinity DID have something to do with it).

By the way pebbles, there will be X's (not t's) on the Pizza Box turf Friday night at the designated kickoff points, so be sure that you remind your players NOT to stomp on them in the pre-game warmups. :fight:

I guess not. Only teams on the West side of the bracket are capable of giving anyone a game, apparently...a la John Hardin.... Henry Clay was definetly worthy of their hype...but I get the feeling that the only way anyone will believe the improvement of Trinity is against X. It doesn't matter how well we beat anyone up to this point...or how much we could have scored in a lot of those games.

They did??? Hmmm, I must've been at a different game than the one I thought I saw.

"You can't make turnovers and win games,'' Henry Clay coach Sam Simpson said. "Our kids kept fighting. We were only two scores away (24-13), then made a turnover. It's hard to let this one go.''

Senn also intercepted a pass by Henry Clay quarterback Salin Simpson in the end zone to halt a Blue Devil threat that had reached the Trinity 25.

3 fumbles & 1 interception all deep in Trinity territory. Those Henry Clay turnovers sure didnít hurt the Rocks.

Settle down fella, I was just pointing out that in addition to Daddypete picking X to win big, he also picked HC to win big. It is a valid comment considering Daddypete's pick. Please refrain from comments a calling other posters "childish" as I would guess that is against the rules.

What do you consider deep in Trinity's territory just across the 50? I don't recall all their turnovers beeing deep in our territory.

Trinity's defensive line suprised me against Henry Clay in not being as physical as they have had in years past. Henry Clay could run the ball but chose not to with bad play calling like the fade thrown in the end zone to Jeter that got picked off who might have been the shortest kid on the field. St. X's offensive line will give Trinity a lot of problems.

I agree the Rocks upfront have to hold their ground. They must force X to put the ball in the air and not the 2 yard screen passes X ran all day I believe last year. We cannot play 8 yards off the receivers and allow the short pass, make them beat us deep. It should be interesting but I unfortunately have not seen Bean do anything to make X change their style of play, X has decided which plays to run at all times the last couple years and that has to stop atleast once or twice this game. IMO

The problem the Trinity D is going to have IMO is not the 'plays' that are called by Bean but the lack of size that the Trinity D has in comparison to the X's O. Bean has has tremendous success in years past and is finally getting the Trinity D to look like his 'traditional' D. The number one problem that they will face in this game is being outsized and outplayed physically.
