Boone County vs. Simon Kenton (Frosh) Preview

These teams meet at Boone Thursday at 6 pm.

Boone has 2 wins, defeating Holmes and Dixie. They have lost 3 times--Ryle, Cooper, and Campbell County.

What is SK's freshman team's record to date? Can an SK fan tell us what they do well?

When Boone has had success it has come off of a power running game. This has set up both long runs by a quicker back and the passing game. Boone's QB is very accurate when he has time to throw.

There may be others whose teams have played against either Boone or SK that may want to add any positives that you have seen on either of these teams. You may comment on any of the three phases of the game--offense, defense, special teams.

Please note, I did not ask for anything negative to be said. These are freshman and they have a lot to learn about football. Their coaches and parents already tell them what they are doing wrong. Piling on will be penalized as a personal foul.

Simon Kenton is 0-5. They really have not played a complete game yet and have been in games or ahead at halftime so it is hard to tell what they do well consistently. From the top, the QB is a solid runner when he makes the decision to run. Their backs are bulls when the run straight ahead. Their defense is solid when it attacks instead of reacting. The only thing that could be said right now about SK that they do well consistently is that the QB is their punter and is a very solid punter.

^ those are all tough opponents (caveat: I don't know anything about Scott). It will be interesting to see how the game turns out tonight.

May both teams play up to their potential and be free from injury.

To add the return game has been very good... I believe he has had at least 1 kickoff return TD and several returns both punt and Kick return of 40 yds or more. Although he was in street clothes last night?
This team has plenty of good players that will contribute significantly in HS they're just not deep as a class.

On another note, I really like the Sergent kid! Does he not play offense? Seems like he's a threat every time he gets his hands on the ball returning kicks.
